| Is my yorkie sick? I bought her less than a week ago and usually shes really playful but today shes been really tired and sleeping all day and hasnt been eating (she barely ate a spoonful) could it be because I took her to the park yesterday so shes really tired? or is it because she hasnt slept well since I bought her? IDk shes just acting strange and she was chewing on my pen (its too hard for her to bite any of the plastic off so I let her chew it) and she threw up a bit afterwards.. also she took her vaccine today (after all the symptoms I stated) so could she have gotten sick bc I took her to the park even tho she hasnt completed her vaccination? Her stool is perfectly fine and she doesnt usually have a big appetite but she doesnt eat this little either.. shes 4-5 months btw |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Hi and welcome to YT. Yes, it sounds like something is definitely wrong here. She shouldn't have gotten that vaccine if she was already under the weather. And she shouldn't have gone to a park without all her vaccines being done. So yes, something could most definitely be wrong. Inappetance in dogs means something isn't right and it should be taken very seriously when it happens in a young puppy.

| Hopefully she hasnt picked up parvo running around in a dog park without being fully vaccinated. Watch her closely and if she does not get better within 24 hours, I personally would be at the vet....dont wait until the weekend when the vet is probably closed, then you are looking at an emergency vet hospital at twice-thrice the regular price. Please wait until this pup is COMPLETELY vaccinated, wait an additional week, then take her to dog parks if that is what you do. Way too many chances for an unprotected puppy to pick up any canine disease especially parvo, in a dog park. She really should not be in public at all, until she is completely vaccinated. Any disease she picks up on her feet, she brings right back to YOUR property/car/yard/home/etc. |
