Thanks for the suggestion. It's been 4 days since he's been on the Sulfasalazine and he's slept through the night, has had no accidents and has had normal formed poops with no blood. I'm ecstatic!!!! I hope this will continue, I'm so happy my baby is feeling better I could do snoopy dances.

I'm sorry the issues you are having. My angel Tink had recurrant SIBO in her belly, and here is what we did:
Flortiflora 1x daily, B-12 injection every 4 weeks, 1x daily Tylan. I don't know if any of these meds could help - I know how frustrating it can be when they have an upset belly and you just want to make them feel better

Thanks for your support. I don't know if he has the SIBO still. Right now he is doing great. The Colitis medication, the sulfasalazine worked almost overnight so I'm thinking it's more a colitis issue. I will be taking him back to the vet next month for his shot updates and he will probably check his bacteria levels. I really would like to transition him from Flagyl to the Tylan as I hear it is safer. I also would like to try another food to see if he could at least lower his colitis meds because they do have dry eye side effects with long term use.

Right now though after 5 months of having a sick baby and many failed attempts at making him well, just having him healthy, happy with normal poops is everything to me right now.

Oh, one more thing, the Fortiflora never helped Jake, it only made him worse. I know it's a good product, but it just didn't work for him. I know, having colitis myself, that not every probiotic works for everyone and I am still in a search for one for him and myself.

You might want to speak with your vet about trying Hill's Z/D. I have two IBD pups on it and they love the food..plus it really helped them!

Jess had something simliar, though not as bad. We did the flagyl and it didnt really work. Still had bacteria runny poop.

So we went back to the vet and she gave me
amoxi tabs and tylan powder. Amoxi tabs twice a day for a week and the tylan powder was sprinkled on her food twice a day for 5 days then a couple days a week. She is totally fine now, had her blood test yesterday and it all came back great. They also gave me a probiotic called probviable to sprinkle on her food .
