Seizures Back-Injury to head? My 13yr old boy has been on 0.7 dose of levitracticam for a few months. Now the other nite he was behind me without my knowing and I closed the slider to my yard accidentally when his head was in it. He did not yelp, cry, fall etc and acted normal..no pain still played, pooped etc. Next day seizures started again but worse and only when he eats or has a toy in mouth. Do you think its related to head trauma? Dr will call me in am. I am nervous now though..

Hopefully, he does not have a slow bleed in his head....with a history of seizures, and now a head injury and return of the seizure activity but worse......I would be at an emergency vet.....I can not stomach seizure activity in humans or dogs, those derail me faster than anything. My tiny little Bumper fell of my sewing kit beside my chair....a total of 7 inches high.....he hit is little head, started seizing....I HATE seizure activity.....dont even remember the trip to the vet, just remember parking the car, and rushing in. They gave him medication that would prevent fluid build up from the "injury" to his brain, and some other meds...no sedation.....had to watch him like a hawk for the next 36 hours, doing neuro checks on him every hour for the first 24 hours, and every 2 then 4 hours after that for a day....seizures are indicative of many things, in my case, it was closed head trauma....If I were you, I would just want to be sure he did not have pressure building up from the injury.....that needs emergent treatment.

Neurology said head trauma would not be related or highly unlikely to his seizures. I have to monitor Rex as he may have thrown up his meds without my knowing or missed a dose etc. and see if we need to raise his dosage..for now..So I am doing so for next day or so..

How is your baby doing currently? Did you have to adjust his dosage to control his new threshold of seizure activity? Bless his little heart..... | |

I have been dosing him without food and directly into the throat so no meds get away. Today seems a tad better so it may have in fact been a missed dose or he vomited up the medication etc. Watching and waiting..
