| Abnormal growth on paw i noticed a growth on my babies paw/pad a few weeks ago. It is on the out side of his rear right paw. It is growing and a deep redish color. My vet was kind enough to look at it and told me it will require surgery and a lot of other treatments. I am at a loss at what to do because the "quote" is close to $500.00. I just spent close to that a few months ago to have an abnormal growth on his tummy removed and his teeth cleaned. On a personal note, I just stated receiving my SSI and after the monthly bills, I'm left with around $400.00 to live on for the entire month. I am not asking for financial help but would like any information regarding charities available. I live in Huntington Beach, CA and have searched for charities in my area. I have attached a picture that was taken last night. Has anyone ever seen something like this or have knowledge of what it is? I am more than gratefull for any information. I have posted a picture but don't know if it attached.please let me know if it's not there. Thank you. |

| Welcome to Yorkie Talk. The picture did not come through. It might need to be resized smaller to post. Any growth on the paw would likely need to removed and should be biopsied to see if it is malignant. Care Credit/Synchony usually approves a minimum $500 line of credit that would interest free for 6 months to 2 years on something like this surgery. Takes just minutes over the phone to be approved. The monthly payments are minimal. Details depend on the vet's office, so you would have to talk to the office you are going to use. Some potential helpful info: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/sic...vet-bills.html Talk to family or friends and ask if they would be willing to make loan arrangements with you.

| I cannot see a photo, but my dog had a growth on his paw and it was a hystiosytoma and it cleared up on its own with no treatment, you could google photos of that , has your vet done any aspiration tests on it ? As that may give an accurate diagnosis of what type of growth it is.

| I went to Prosper.com for a substantial loan for my unbelieveable dental bills I am facing right now. They really do try to work with you and it is actually really like a bunch of people with money, trying to help people out....they review your case, and members agree to loan you the money or some money, and you pay it back...it is such a very wonderful thing these people do .....when I am out of dog breeding/dog owning and it is just me and my son and not all these astronomical dog expenses, I am going to seriously consider doing this...it is so wonderful for the help these people give! At least check it out..... |

YT 500 Club Member | Don't know what the growth looks like, no pictures. My late Yorkie had one on his paw pad. It was very strange but the Vet didn't think is was anything bad. It took a very long time to get a hold on it. Kept it wrapped and dry. Put plastic bags on to go outside. He would try and get the bandages off. It would get lots better and then go bad again. Back & forth. Honestly I think he passed with his paw still like this. But, that is not why he passed. He had GME for almost 2 years and his little body just gave out. Heart stills breaks. His disease had nothing to do with his paw. Good luck with yours.
