These poor babies when they are in the wrong hands and left to suffer like he did .. just makes me sick. They truly are resilient though!

![]() Your description of Toby reminds me of my Teddy, who also gets in line, even for things like grooming. Still cracks me up after 6 years. (our line is a little shorter than yours)

| Yes they are. I remember when I took Gracie out of the San Jacinto shelter, I thought she was on her way from this earth & planned to take her to my vet to have her PTS. I wanted her to leave this earth knowing someone cared & could not stand the thought of her dying alone on the cold hard floor. When I picked her up all I could do was gasp as under all that matted fur she was nothing but skin & bones & had green goop coming from her eyes, ears, mouth & her little PP. When I arrived at the vet with her I was in tears at the thought of this poor girls neglect & what her life had come to. Once in the room the vet checked her out & asked if I would be interested in saving her, my jaw dropped & the vet chuckled & said yes Deb I think we can do it. The green goo was yeast, her blood looked pretty good but the horrible infection in her mouth was causing her enzymes to be a bit off, her heart sounded very strong, she had severe cataracts in both eyes & she was nearly starved to death but the vet gave us hope so we went for it. The vet removed all her rotten teeth only to realize they were only rotten due to fox tails up in her gum line that caused abscesses & all the teeth that had no fox tails were in very good shape. Once the mess & infection were cleared up, she put on wt & acted like a puppy even though she was from the vets guestimation between 15 & 17 yrs old. The cataracts were non operable & meds did not work for her but her eye removal was a piece of cake for the old girl. After about a year she started acting like she was having neck & shoulder pain so to the vet we went. The vet took x-rays & found , I can't remember now but 5 or 7 pellets in her little body & again all I could do was bawl at the thought of what she'd been through in her life & I wanted to do some serious harm to whoever allowed this little Angel to suffer so horribly. So from that day till the end of her life she went to the Doggie Chiropractor whenever she needed & it kept her up & runnin till the end when she went into renal failure about 3 1/2 yrs after that day I intended to be with her as she left this world. My little Amazing Grace had other plans & gave me the best yrs of her sweet little life & I am forever grateful for that. |
