| Bella hurt her front right leg Hi. Bella was running outside at the park and suddenly I heard her yelping. Seems like she hurt her front leg however I can move it up and down just not Press on it around the shoulder area. I don't think she broke it so what else can it be ? Is it her muscle? I will take her to the vet shortly just wanted to know if someone experienced anything similar. Thanks! |

| Poor Bella! Were you able to see the vet? Could be so many things. Max recently had a neck/shoulder muscle pull that caused him yelp and shake in pain. Medications from the vet and strict rest were required. Hoping it is something simple for Bella too.

Yesterday, after one hour I noticed that Bella relaxed So I offered her a dental stick to see if she would eat and she grabbed it with no problems. I decided to wait until this AM and now she is walking normally. After 3 yorkies I learned not to panic although I am always fearful for their legs Since my first one had leg issues.

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Could have also been a sting... I would watch it very closely...you still may want to take her in even though it appears okay.

| Max was given a steroid and a muscle relaxer to take care of inflammation and pain. If she is walking normally, holding her head upright and straight, no problems with legs, exhibiting no signs of pain, no tenderness to the touch . . . then you are probably okay. I just remembered another incident when Max was running full throttle across our yard and he landed his foot wrong. He went down with a big yelp. Like you, I am very fearful of them hurting their delicate legs. He held his foot up for less than minute and then was back to normal. (I ended the running for the day).

I will touch it and see how she reacts. If she yelps I will take her and ask For an x-Ray. Last edited by guliverandmaya; 07-14-2015 at 03:38 AM.

| Hi. Quick update.. Bella is fine. She walks normally and no pain when I touch her leg however she just vomited a few times. I think maybe due to the stress she was on yesterday? Is that possible? I am monitoring her situation, hopefully I don't have to go to the vet. |

Anything different in her diet within the last 24 hours? Vomiting can lead to dehydration quickly. As you probably know, the smaller the dog, the faster they can go down. I wouldn't hesitate to go to the vet/ER.

| I would hold the chews/treats, and wouldn't push her to eat food tonight which might just cause more vomiting. It's a delicate balance though withholding food and being cautious about dehydration and hypoglycemia.

| How is she doing today? Is it possible she got overheated yesterday?
