| Teddy won't eat My poor Tesdy doesn't feel well. He doesn't want to eat for the second day in a row. I have no idea what's wrong. Nothing has changed. He had complete lab work 5 days prior and everything looked great. I'm worried. Please keep my little boy in your thoughts today.

| Very sorry to hear Teddy still doesn't want to eat this morning. Keeping both of you in my thoughts that it will be something minor that can be easily resolved.

| Reese gets like this sometimes. I've had success with baby food. I'll put some on my finger and she'll investigate and then lick it off. I do that a few times just so she has something. Maybe try that? Has he gone to the bathroom today? Everything normal? Last edited by reese10; 06-23-2015 at 02:02 PM. |

| Try some Parmesan sprinkled in with the food! That always works for my girls...

| Teddy went to the vet this evening. He hadn't eaten for two days. The vet gave him some cerenia and a little fluids. His exam was unremarkable and he exhibited no pain in his abdomen or any of his joints. We are doing a tick screen and pancreatitis screen but they are low suspicions. She thinks it's gastritis and if that's the case he should eat by the morning. If he doesn't, they held his blood and will do additional labs in the morning to try to find out what is wrong. He ate a little after we came home but in two days he hasn't eaten more than 1/4 of his total normal intake. Thanks for thinking of Teddy.

| Try a little bit of no shell unsalted sunflower seeds!! It worked for my puppy who is very picky.. The smell it's strong and she loved it!! I couldn't believe how much she ate with a little bit of that on her food! That's what worked for me last night and this morning! I don't think they can eat a lot of it and make sure it's unsalted... if you can't find unsalted then just do salted and maybe clean the salt off but don't give your dog too much either way... not sure how much of that they can eat but apparently its safe for them in small quantities. Let us know how he is doing. I will keep Teddy in my thoughts and prayers! |

| I've been force feeding my dog and I couldn't believe how crazy she went when we gave her 1 sunflower seed!! Here they talk about sunflower oil: Good Nutrition for Healthy Vegan Dogs Here they talk about the actual seed: "Skip the salt if possible, or serve in moderation, recommends Lauten. "Remember, treats should not comprise more than 10 percent of your dog's daily calorie intake. If your dog gets 500 calories a day, 50 calories could come from treats."" - 10 Human Foods Dogs Can Eat - Dogs Tips & Advice | mom.me Can dogs eat sunflower seeds? | Dog training tips,Dog food reviews,Dog health-Dog Questions can dogs eat sunflower seeds | Dogs Eat |

| Xena Teddy normally eats very well. He isn't usually picky. He's sick, and I wouldn't try to force feed him. Ill know more today and am about to see if he will eat. Fingers crossed...

| If you force feed get a large syringe and make sure you run it through the syringe at least once just in case the food get stuck... Have you force fed before? Make sure you say nice things as you are doing it and go slow... I put a little bit of water in the wet food. Mine has been sick too with Giardia, upper respiratory infection and ear infection... Her stomach has been really upset with all the meds and I think that's also why she is not eating. Check his gums constantly and don't let it go pale... they must be pink!! Please keep us posted!! You and your furbaby will be in my thoughts and prayers!! I know how difficult it must be to see your furbaby this sick and not know what is going on or what to do!!! |
