| something just isn't right I took him to the vet, she said it is hypoglycemia. OK , so twelve hours later, he should be a bouncing bundle of yorkie puppy, right? He eats but doesn't want his kibble. My son pulled out the wet food we got when we first got him home. He has annihilated 2 cans in 12 hours. Have to force fluids. Doesn't chase the cat. Lay's around like, I don't feel good. I'm freaking out, and my vet thinks I'm some kind of dog hypochondriac.

| How much does he weigh? Is it possible he has a belly ache from eating the 2 cans of food? With wet food, dogs require less water and will drink less. I would not force too much with the fluids. Trust your instincts and return to the vet if necessary. If his gums are sticky and pale, go to the vet immediately. Any diarrhea or vomiting, also go to the vet.

| If you see he's not acting right go back to the vet. You know him better than anyone else. And if you don't trust your vet find a new one. Your vet needs to listen and you need to feel comfortable with him. Please update and let us know how he is doing.

| We went back to vet this morning. After a call to the vet hospital last night. I brought a snack bag of diarrhea poo. She drew blood and is putting him on amoxicillian (sp?) Thinking a bug from eating deer poop. Not allowed out of the house till spring per the vet, not allowed out of the house EVER per me. He's fully vaccinated, but someone said he could still get parvo. Does this sound right to anyone? She's doing a EDT on his liver. He's head was all wobbly last night, they thought from the hypoglycemia, but she is starting to wonder if it is neurological. It's the egg chicken conundrum, hypoglycemia from being sick or being sick from the hypoglycemia. I'm in tears, so stressed out. I knew I didn't want him outside, but my husband didn't want him potty pad trained. "You worry to much Mandy, he's a dog, dogs go ($**t) outside all the time and they live 15 or 20 years. " grrr...... He's 22 weeks.... (5months) 3#10oz. He was sick before the wet food. That's why my son pulled it out. It's 3.5 Oz trays of food, given 10 hours apart. (Too much?) I've given him 6 ml of water in 15 hours. Half of this post is a copy and paste from my thread in the general discussion area. Thanks, I appreciate all you do.

YT 2000 Club Donating Member | I am so sorry you are having so much worry with your pup!. Pavro and distemper could still be caught most especially if the titer levels are low, which they can be for some dogs even after having the vaccination. Unusual but possible. I don't know about deer poop. but geese poop is highly toxic to dogs. One way you could work out this outside/inside thing - is to build a potty area outside and enclose it off for your Yorkie.

| That's what we have done. Just fence off a little area so he can go outside, but not have access to deer poop or other things. it works out pretty well. I do let Lexi out into the yard to run and chase the squirrels and just do doggie things, but I am watching her pretty closely. |
