| Well, lilah is nearing thirty days on the adynosol, November 7th (I believe) is her follow up appointment but honestly after doing some reading and research I am feeling a bit grim. We will see what the vet says of course and go from there but as it stands I don't think lilah has a shunt (which would be a great big yay! I realize she still could have a shunt btw) but I really do think she has mvd/hvp. Though lilah would primarily be considered asymptomatic seeing as how she does not have some of the classic vomit /diarrhea issues, Lilah has always been a poor/finicky eater and I have only recently found a food (she's almost two) that she is eating pretty well. When compared to her sister at a few months old she was about half the size and grew well below the breeders anticipated size/weight (lilah has been a steady 4.6 for a long time her sister is between 7-8) and I have gone to the vet with my concerns about lilah being 'skinny' (possibly poorly developed muscle tone was what I was really feeling???) several times. Lilah also had a uti as a puppy (I don't believe she has had one since) and apparently that is an indicator (or can be, I wouldn't be mentioning it except the additional indicators) And the kicker?...I contacted the breeder and she confirmed at least one sibling from lilah's litter has mvd/hvp *poor appetite, stunted growth, poor muscle tone, uti history, sibling diagnosed* That said I am sure that's the luckier of many other options and it sounds like a healthy, happy life can be managed with a diet change And some other supports put into place. I suppose secondary to my fading hope that lilah 'got into something' this would be a better alternative to many other health issues. I guess we shall see. On a brighter note lilah takes her daily pill like a champ and continues to display no prevelant gi behaviors, is happy,at least appears to be healthy and loves her squeaky lamb Baby pic!

| Will keep cutie Lila in my prayers...really hope it's not anything serious. From what I've read, UTI is a recurring problem w/liver shunt pups, since Lila only had it once, hoping she's ok.

| Aww, thank you I sure am hoping for the best too. Of course now I am wracking my brain trying to think of wether I know it to be true lilah hasn't had uti issues and I just didn't know it- I mean, she uses a pee pad for Christ sakes how could I not notice if there was a problem?! I suppose a wry laugh and a shake of my head is all I've got. Well know more after our vet appointment and I guess I am a bit anxious even though I know I can't do anything until we complete the first task- 30 days and a recheck. Thanks for keeping her in your thoughts ladies, I'm keeping my fingers crossed...
