| licking his paw pads at night Like clockwork when we go to bed he starts licking the bottom of his paws for a good 20 minutes. I can't see anything wrong on it but when i try to move his face away from it he goes straight back to it, like he's obsessed with it. I only notice it when we are in bed (he sleeps in our bed), should i be worried or is paw licking normal?

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Paw licking / chewing is the cardinal sign of allergies in dogs, so that's what I'd primarily be wondering about. With allergies, their paws feel very irritating to them via a histamine response - so they have the urge to lick and chew them. Read more about allergies here: http://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/die...tart-here.html

| My Ziva licks her front paws at night like sucking her thumb, she used to lick the leather couch- I don't know which is worse. If I am not being too lazy I pick her up and run her paws under the faucet |
