I am so sorry to hear about Mylee going through this but hopefully they have a correct diagnosis and now they can treat it. I can't imagine the roller coaster ride you have been on but hopefully now that roller coaster is slowing down and stopping. I will continue to pray for you and Mylee. Stay positive because your baby needs you and I'm sure you need her. :) |
I've been following this & just want you to know you & Mylee are in my thoughts daily. Take care. |
Sorry about the ups and downs. It must be so hard. I hope mylee feels better soon. |
Thankfully they have a diagnosis and she can be treated. I hope she improves quickly now and to be home with you soon. |
Hopefully now she will start to feel better. Keeping you both in my prayers |
Get better soon Mylee! |
Pancreatitis is usually treatable and the inflammation goes down and things get back to normal. But try not to sweat the avoiding food - you know just as we all do that even the slightest thing wrong with them will put a Yorkie off his or her feed in a heartbeat! My Tibbe is a great eater - even addicted to food - but I swear, I added a few new Hill's Hepatic Kibble to his food in place of the Hill's Hepatic Canned for two days and he got so sick - refusing food, spitting up and dry-heaving, lethargic, eventually leading to off-and-on diarrhea. Of course after the first night of refusing his dinner, I had him at the vet the next day and he was put on Metronidazole, continued on the Cerenia I always keep in the house and told to continue his Kaopectin, which I also always keep - and 8 days later he was back to being willing to eat on his own w/out my encouragement. Then after two days of eating almost normally after that and he was back to refusing food until evening for two days in a row(when normally he wakes up starving and insisting on breakfast and empties his bowl), had another loose stool and even today, almost two weeks later, he's still not back on schedule and eating normally. Just one thing goes wrong with his GI tract and Tibbe is weeks getting back on track. My Jilly was the same way. I always tell myself I've been down this road with him many times before but I always quietly panic when he's not eating and pooping 100% normally. Try not to worry as refusing food and tummy upsets are pretty normal in many, many Yorkies and I imagine after what she's been through, it will take a good while to get Mylee back to her old self. |
Well friends, just as I suspected, I would not get such a good update today, and I am wondering how much longer we can fight this fight. Today, Mylee is feeling a bit better, but her white blood count is through the roof at 42000. (Normal is 24000) The vet feels it is necretizing pancreatitis, or a pancreatic abcess. That sounds so scary to me. So it looks like she's going to be there through the weekend. We'll go see her tomorrow. |
Shelly, I'm praying hard for little Mylee. |
Shelley you and Mylee have my thoughts and prayers!! |
It was the first time our vet said we may not win this and is beginning to prepare us for that possibility.:cry::cry: |

Oh no, this diagnosis is very worrying and I feel for you and poor little Mylee. She is a brave little girl and has been through a lot these past weeks. What other tests and treatment are they giving her? You must be exhausted with all the ups and downs and I cannot imagine the stress and misery you are going through. I hope that they are medicating her to ease her discomfort. Praying so hard for this baby and hope she will be able to overcome this. Hugs. |
My heart goes out to you. Please don't give up hope. There are so many people here who are praying for both of you, and we care so much about you. We are here for you. |
Shelly, have they done an ultrasound? I am so sorry to hear that she is so very ill. I just hate pancreatitis. :( |
