| My Yorkie was wobbly, disoriented and seemed confused My 6 month old female Yorkie is presently in the emergency animal hospital. I have had her since Januaryand she is very healthy, loves to eat, lots of energy, very confidant, very smart. I am with her almost all the time as since I got her, I take her to work with me. Tonight she was fine coming home from work, I took her for a walk and as usual she picks everything up and she eats stuff she finds, grass, mulch, leaves, anything she can get to before I take it out of her mouth. After the walk, I fed her dinner(usual food) she ate it in about 2 minutes. She went to her potty pad and peed, then I put her in her crate with a Dentley chew stick (which she loves) and my husband and I took our son out to dinner for his birthday. When we got home, we opened the door to the crate and she didn't come out which is totally not like her. Then I noticed that she was wobbly and slightly shaking. She could walk but she staggered some. We immediately took her to the animal hospital. They did blood work, ex-rays, iv , test for anti freeze (which I told them was impossible) poisoning, my total bill is about $850. The doctor seems to think liver shunt but from what I have read online, she doesn't fit the symptoms as she has great muscle development, eats well, has gained weight as she should, etc. I am thinking poisoned maybe something she picked up and ate. They did find a large upholstery staple in the stool in her rectum and some small boney looking objects in her stomach which I think are teeth. She has been losing them for the last couple of weeks. We gave her a dose of Advantage Multi last night and the warning symptoms on that box seemed to match her symptoms perfectly. Any ideas or has anybody else had this kind of problem. She is presently spending the night in the hospital. So far her tests have come back normal. One thing in the blood work was a little higher than normal but was still in the "normal" range. |

| did you leave her unattended while chewing her dental bone? if so I would suggest in the future no chews without being monitored. Did you tell the vet about the Advantage application? Sending many prayers she recovers and is ok.

| It does sound as if she could have had a bad reaction to the Advantage Multi and you are not going to be able to use that on her again. Probably just too much for her system. I guess the dose became toxic to her. The vet is rightfully checking everything as is proper but I'm hoping it was just that combination of drugs and pesticides that took her down. Praying your little girl will be out and okay and home tonight in your arms.
