I try to give people the benefit of the doubt, until the things they are posting just begin to blur together and they can't keep their story straight. It's then that I begin to think they're here just to cause problems and get us all riled up and there's probably not a puppy anyway. If there is, I hope she gets him the help he needs, but as the saying goes, you can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. When they get ugly and start calling names, that pretty much seals it for me and let's me know that we have hit the nail on the head. And there's nothing in the rules that says we can't call someone out when they don't tell the truth. We have her ample opportunity to come clean, answer questions, give information, etc and she chose to call some names. She made her choices and she has to live with them, and the abuse of her dog if that's the case. She knew exactly what she was doing and we all fell for it because we care. |
This could be colitis. I have seen pups pass blood exactly like this with colitis & leave little to no blood on their bum. FYI to the OP, a dog can actually hemorrhage inside from colitis. If this happens again I would get that pup to the vet ASAP. |

Nothing about the OP adds up at all, her post makes no sense, her motive and response......exactly what she/he wanted. YT has a way of weeding out the "phonies". Collectively we are a very knowledgeable group of people, very experienced, I've seen bloody messes that looked like the Valentines Day Massacre in my lifetime and that pad makes no sense whatsoever, her explanation etc...as pointed out by several folks here who also happen to be in the medical field it appears to be something other and the pattern is ohhhhhhhh why go on.....anyway.... Arguing about an apparent phony makes no sense she is gone. If something were really wrong with that pup no matter what we say she is still going to do what she is going to do. Just because she no longer has access to YT doesn't mean the dog is doomed to death....come on. I've had emergencies and the last thing I thought of was YT as I was running out the door......if thats the case and this poster is that negligent than that pup doesn't have a chance in hell anyway. Just my 2cents for the day. |

"The canine nail is comprised of 3 main parts. They are of the quick or the vein and nerve endings that supply both blood circulation and sensitivity to pressure and hot/cold senses of the toe and the foot. Surrounding this very soft, fluid filled center is a pulp, inner nail bed, or layers of soft and moist tissue that helps to protect and cushion the sensitive vein and nerves much as our fatty tissue and subcutaneous makeup does for our own bodies." According to my vet text books, no artery running down into the nail! Veins, capillaries, collaterial cirrculatory patterns....no mention of an artery that runs down into the quick of the nail! |

"The most important anatomical detail of the nail is the central nerve, artery and vein. This neurovascular bundle is called the QUICK. If the quick is inadvertently cut when trimming the nail. It will bleed and the dog will have signicant pain" http://www.dacherpwd.com/NailTrimPoster.pdf |

*Aorta-->large artery-->medium artery-->small artery-->arteriole-->capillary (where arterial / venous blood exchanges)-->venule-->vein The nail bed would have a blood supply, yes, but not an actual artery. |
