something has to be wrong with my puppy he's bleeding 1 Attachment(s) Last few post he wasn't eating and or vomiting and shaking I syringe feed him now he's back to eating on his own.and back to being activity my little hyper guy. This morning I woke up to him crying I thought maybe he wanted to potty since he sleeps in his crate so I let him out he seem normal went potty and eat and drank his water. I looked in his crate to see if he went to the bathroom in his sleep and I found blood on his wee wee pad I don't know what it's from. I check his butt no blood check his private nothing check his face no cuts I'm worried and the vet isn't open yet to top it off!! He isn't acting hurt but the fact that it's blood. What could it be? He's barely 8 weeks now by the wya |
Does your regular vet have an after hours number for emergencies, if so call him/her. If not find an emergency vet. |
Check him closer for cuts or a torn toenail, as that blood looks very bright and in dots and streaks. If it was in urine or in his poo it would be more diluted I think. Are his toenails sharp? Sometimes they can scratch themselves behind their ear or someplace if he is itching and tear the skin a bit. It's hard to see in dark fur, but you can take a moist white washcloth or paper towel and wipe all over him to see where it came from. Of course, keep an eye on him and have a vet check up as soon as you can, especially as he is very young. |
Please go to the vet as soon as you can |

Check him over....is there blood on his feet? on his toes? Look at his body...do you see any cuts or scratches? If not, with his recent history of illness and his age, I would be vetting this baby....crisis avoidance rather than crisis management. |
This photo is not typical of anything I've ever seen and I've seen a lot! |
With all his issues has he been checked for parvo? |

Closest thing I can think of would be like peeing and walking and peeing and walking.....like maybe passing a stone???....but I am not a proponent of guessing a diagnosis, especially when it involves bleeding.... |
I hope he is ok....sending many well wishes. |

Looks like ink dribbled on the pad. |

The vet did not see your puppy today? Blood like that is cause for going to the ER, especially for a barely 8 week old tiny puppy. I am also concerned about the long hair on the pad. That isn't from him, is it? Max didn't have hair that long at 13 weeks, and a puppy should not be losing hair. |

We have temperatures here that are very hot and I have never had a dog have a nose bleed. I suppose anything is possible |
That's a lot of blood for a small puppy. I would be taking my puppy to the vet ASAP. Callie was sick and pooed straight blood in the middle of the night and we took her to the vet ASAP. Blood loss in a very small very young pup is very serious and if your vet is not concerned I think you need to find a new vet. |

I keep looking at the picture and it really looks like it was peed to me. |
call me "over protective" but if that was my dog, he would have been tucked under one arm and that pad under the other arm, and off to the vet I would have been. But that's me.....That's a lot of blood |
I have lived here in Houston since 1963 and I have sat through summer temps in excess of 100*, with 70 - 90% humidity, and I have never seen a dog have a nose bleed. Been involved with Yorkies since 1976 (?) 1978....never had a Yorkie with a nose bleed for ANY reason....Good luck with your pup..... |
