Your dogs sick. Take him to a vet instead of spending your time on here arguing with people about what you said or didn't say.

Now that that is out of the way, even if it is a nosebleed, a nosebleed can be a sign of an underlying disorder that needs to be diagnosed and treated: Nose Bleed in Dogs | petMD Epitaxis (Nose Bleed) in Dogs and Cats | MyPetED The photo doesn't look like the dog was peeing blood. If it was pee in the blood, it would be diluted and not as bright. I've never heard of a dog peeing pure blood, but I suppose anything is possible. Whether it's a nose bleed or peeing blood, please see the vet. I don't think your vets are lazy (at least, not the second vet), but they DO want to be paid for their services. If you think either of these vets is not competent to diagnose your dog, find another vet, but please see a vet and take the pee pad with you. | |

Donating YT 3000 Club Member | Hi Bossypartigirl . . .wish I had your name, calling you this is so impersonal. Anyway. . . . You seem to have a lot of problems with your pup. Did you contact the breeder you got him from. If the person is reputable they will help out. Something is really wrong with your pup. And I do not want you to go through the heartache that some here have gone through. If you haven't reach out to your breeder.

If cut nails were responsible for the bleeding, they most likely would have been bleeding at the time of the cutting and not in the middle of the night *unless* the dog broke a nail below the quick in the middle of the night, but like I said, the OP checked, and the nails seemed fine. Still, it's something for the vet to consider... At any rate, it does look like a lot of blood on that pad, and she should find out from a vet what happened. | Anytime a dog is losing blood from an unknown site - particularly a very, very young dog who is not eating and has recently had so many symptoms and problems - an immediate vet exam is absolutely essential. We are not vets here, aren't qualified to tell you what is wrong and your dog badly needs a full work-up, testing by a specialist to find out what in the world is causing all his problems. Young puppies are usually bouncy balls of feisty energy and eat like little pigs, are constantly tearing about playing, pee/poo every few hours and sleep a good deal, routinely problem free and nothing like you are describing your experience so far. They don't bleed. Any 8 - 9 weeks old puppy having a life different from that needs an owner willing to pro-actively pursue vital vet care until you know why he's not living the life of a normal, happy-go-lucky puppy. I hope that your vet can clear up his problems but if not, get a copy of all his lab results and x-rays, etc., and get to an ER or specialist or even another good, reputable veterinarian in your area that can get your baby on a healthy track. To do less means you could put your little dog's life in jeopardy. But anytime I see that much blood from my dog - wherever it's from - I'm off to get my dog vet care in case he's hurt, ill or in pain. Any tiny little critter losing that much blood from somewhere is likely very hurting somewhere, poor little thing.

I agree 110%. I wouldn't be on this site until I knew exactly what was going on and then I would share my experience with others. But that's me. I have raced to the vet with potty pad in Walmart bag before. That is pure blood from the photo and way too much loss for a young small puppy. I don't get it????

| Ok to the OP take a deep breath and think about it. This little guy was to young when you brought him home which in itself can bring lots of issues. The fact that the vet said it was probably a nose bleed and to watch him to me is a huge red flag to find another vet. Even if it were a nose bleed that is not normal in any dog unless it came from a blow of some sort to the nose or head (like being dropped etc.) I know you are trying to find help here but we are not vets. Your best option is to take him to a vet school if there is one close. If not that then please find a vet who specializes in small animals and get this little guy some help. Still praying for him.

| Please take him to the Vet.When Buster had internal problems it turned out to be Gastroenteritis ( I believe that was the correct term we thought it might be pancreatitus) I don't have the paperwork with me at the moment. He bleed and I found red blood on his poo pad. He could be trying to poop and all that is coming out is blood. Honestly everyone here is just concerned that you baby is so young and so small. I can't tell you how many times I have cried for a dog I have never met but got emotionally involved with reading posts on YT that died from poor or lack of vetting. We know you are trying to do the best for your dog and are caught between a Vet and a hard place. We may not know the answers but we care about you and your pup. You may need to see a specialist. I am in LA and if you are near the Wilshire/Sepulveda this is a great specialty hospital. Animal Specialty and Emergency CenterASEC, Los Angeles, CA 310-473-1561 | Veterinary Specialty Hospital & 24 Hour Emergency Center if you are near Burbank this is a great Vet https://www.burbankvetcenter.com/dr-pavlina-burpee-3/ Sending prayers for your baby and you.
