Glad to hear things are going well for Sprite. I hope the next three months are uneventful with the neurologist being gone, but I know you have access to others if need be. Hopefully, your doctor would still be in touch if you needed him. I hope things go well, I'm sure it warms your heart to see her playing w/ toys. I hope things stay optimistic!!

We had a beautiful sunny day here and I managed to get some pics of little Sprite outside. Please ignore her very funky hairdo. Neurologists aren't into styling so it's going to be a while until she has a top knot again

The first pic is just before she had her surgery. The second (warning for queasy people) shows you what the shunt looks like right now (kind of klunky on the top of her head). Once her hair grows in it won't be as noticeable. And the third is Sprite chilling by the pool (not in it!

Oh my goodness, Sprite's beautiful, topknot or not! It's wonderful to see photos of your baby girl looking so well, she's your little miracle! Continuing to keep this precious little girl in my prayers.

Thanks for sharing the pictures - she's gorgeous all the way - yeah, maybe not a top knot but a tough knot (badge of honor for a survivor). Bet she'll feel so good when she can finally get a bath.

Thank you all! Yes she is a little cutie and I'm amazed by her ability to rebound after having been through so much in her little life. We all admire her little spirit!

Please keep Sprite in your thoughts

She's having a very difficult week and is not doing well. She was hospitalized Sunday/Monday for severe nausea and vasovagal response, and now has been 24+ hours with severe diarrhea and vomiting. She is very dehydrated and showing some neuro deficits. She's lost a pound since Monday. We just got back from our vet and they gave her subcutaneous fluids. They are waiting to hear back from an internal medicine specialist for further advice re stronger antibiotics and treatment. She is on Cerenia for nausea and Sulcrate in addition to her other meds. She will likely be admitted again for treatment shortly. I'm just waiting for a call back.

I am so very sad to hear that Sprite is not doing well. Poor baby I will keep her in my prayers.

Sorry, I hit send before I was quite done. I also realize that this can be the shunt malfunctioning and that it might be time to consider euthanasia so she doesn't suffer more. It's difficult because we just don't really know. Her blood work Monday didn't show anything abnormal. Please just keep her in your thoughts.
