| ![]() Charlie takes this for his MVD but I order it from a pharmacy called Trilogy Genesis Health Care Charlies specialist ordered it as "compounded" so they make it tastes like chicken. I just pull it back in a syringe and he takes it in no problem (he has to take it twice a day) the Trilogy pharmacy can make it taste like anything you want it to. they can mail it to you or have it delivered to your local Schnucks pharmacy (if you have those stores in your area) Just an idea ![]()

| ![]() OK...just called my vet to find out what the little blue pills are called. They are metronidazole that will melt in the pup's mouth and not have that typical nasty taste. They are called Mini Melts and they get them from Road Runner Pharmacy: RoadRunner Pharmacy | Arizona, Phoenix, Veterinary, Compounding

| ![]() My yorkie has seasonal, environmental allergies and starts scratching, then shortly after the diarrhea and vomiting starts (colitis). I just when through another bout this weekend and went to the VET this morning. The Good news is this, there has been a correlation with allergies and colitis. After a 4 year study and trials, a particular isotope was just isolated that triggers the inhaled allergen to tell the brain to scratch and that causes digestive irritation. Literally hours ago I found this out. This new drug is NOTHING like prednisone. It has NO side affects and does not harm any internal organs. My vet just got it 4 weeks ago and started 4 patients on it that were the worst of the worst (cushings disease and prednisone users). After 4 days, the itching stopped and there has been no bouts of vomiting/diarrhea. He is excited to start giving it to seasonal dogs with allergies to see if starting on it early will prevent the colitis and digestive problems. He told me that for my yorkie, it would cost around $20/month. This is new, So ask your vet about it. My vet said it is on back-order right now, so many vets must have heard about this new product. As soon as I get my yorkie over this bout of Colitis, I am considering going back to get this drug. I live in an area that has many environmental allergens. I hope this helps and good luck. |
