| My poodle had CHF and took lasix and enapril. I think she was started on 2.5mg of enapril but I'm really not sure, she was 12lbs. The meds made her tired and she lost control of her bladder, she had to start wearing diapers. She also got pickier with food, but I'm not sure what caused it. I hope he starts acting more like himself soon, it would be amazing if he makes it to 20! Quote:

| It's such a relief to hear Peek is beginning to come around, also happy the blood test came back good. He's such a little love muffin...I just want him to continue to improve and hold his own.

| I've been on Death Watch with Peek for a few days now. On Wednesday (Christmas evening) he couldn't hold down anything. He would try to drink water and it would come right back out. He also has diarrhea. He has had no interest in food at all. I started to force feed him through a syringe Friday and Saturday, Saturday the vomiting stopped and he started to show interest in water and a tiny bit of baby food. No BMs or pee for 3 days, and can't get up on his own. Today he's drinking more (I offer him food and water every 1-2 hours). He has started to try to get up when he has to pee, but he still can't stand or walk. I don't know if the vomiting was from the meds or if he caught a bug at the vet's that has made him so ill. I'm giving him supportive care at home, bc he is drinking well at this point and as long as the vomiting doesn't start up and I can get him to eat, I feel there's a chance he may regain his strength. I'll be calling his vet in the morning. I didn't think he would make it through today, but he does seem slightly improved.

| I'm very sorry. My Kiwi had CHF, and we didn't think she'd survive it. With a great deal of care from us and our wonderful vet, we were able to save her. Unfortunately, she was too weakened by medications that were bad for her kidneys and after going so long without eating. Although she got much better, she went back into heart failure a few weeks later. I know how much you love your baby and how difficult this must be for you. I am praying for both of you. |

So glad that you got him the to the vets, which can be difficult during the holidays. Sending positive thoughts to you and yours... and of course Peek a Boo! Rooting for you all to have a healthy and happy 2014. |

| We were up very late last night, and today I fell asleep at the computer for maybe 20-30 minutes. The first thing I checked when I awoke was Peek... he was gone! Not gone gone... gone out of his bed (at my side)... he was up and about... trying to find a place to pee! He's still a bit wobbly, but he can now get up on his own and walk around... about 4-5 feet before he gets tired and sits down. He's drinking better and eating a little bit more each time. So well in fact, I let him have too much and he did vomit some up, but not all of it. I'm so excited and hopeful that maybe this will turn around... I know he's not out of the woods yet. I didn't take him to the ER bc he was just so weak I didn't think he could handle the stress of the ride and new people handling him, also, if these are his final days, no more poking and prodding. He gave me a 'look' during his last appointment as the tech was carrying him out of the room that I can still see in my mind, bc he's never done that. Like he's had enough, IDK. We're taking it day by day, hour by hour. As long as he's trying, I'll (hopefully awake) be by his side to help him. Thanks for thinking of him and me during these busy Holidays. We truly appreciate all your thoughts and prayers.
