I started to force feed him through a syringe Friday and Saturday, Saturday the vomiting stopped and he started to show interest in water and a tiny bit of baby food. No BMs or pee for 3 days, and can't get up on his own. Today he's drinking more (I offer him food and water every 1-2 hours).
He has started to try to get up when he has to pee, but he still can't stand or walk. I don't know if the vomiting was from the meds or if he caught a bug at the vet's that has made him so ill. I'm giving him supportive care at home, bc he is drinking well at this point and as long as the vomiting doesn't start up and I can get him to eat, I feel there's a chance he may regain his strength. I'll be calling his vet in the morning. I didn't think he would make it through today, but he does seem slightly improved. |
Poor Peek, I hope he'll be ok. This must be so stressful for you Kat!

I hope he starts acting more like himself soon, it would be amazing if he makes it to 20!
With my poodle the cough sounded like any other cough but she'd gag at the end. |
Momo's cough is more like if he's trying to cough out something that's stuck on his throat...maybe it's got nothing to do w/his heart & I'm getting paranoid for nothing! I'll try to get it on vid, good thing to show the vet too, Thanks.
