You can answer all you want when you get back. Now the most important thing is to take action. I know you love your little baby and are overwhelmed. Please do not waste time. None of us knows how much time she has left. GO GO GO |

Just bc a vet has bad bedside manners, doesn't make him a bad vet. Besides, I don't really pay attention to what reviewers say esp if it's a bad review. People have their own opinions & just bc they had a bad experience doesn't mean we all will. Hope the new vet will be much kinder & will treat Bunny so she can get well! |

And, I am going one step further with you...I realize you have a job but how does that excuse you from leaving that pup to suffer? You are the one who has described her condition and every single person here has told you that you need to get her to a vet NOW...not tomorrow. You live in NYC? And, you cannot find a vet who works somewhere outside your working hours? No one is telling you to lose your job. BUT, I am going to tell you this....if it keeps up as it is, you are going to lose your pup ... how will you feel when you go home and find her dead? That is a very real possibility if she is as sick as you have described. You need to think of ways to get money together...go through that list in the Sick and Injured forum, sell something you can live without, ask friends for a loan.....promise to do some side job. I am sure you can get creative and think of something! |

Praying she will go ahead and act tonight and the vet can get that little sweetie's fever down some, get some IV nutrients/fluid in her, get her feeling well enough to take a little food as Nutrical is basically corn syrup & a few vitamins and be sure she's not dehydrated. Dogs with no appetite, very, very thin, running fever, cold are oftentimes not drinking enough water due to feeling so bad and probable nausea(often goes with fever) and they just run short on electrolytes and blood volume. You so often hear from vets how late people sometimes wait to get their very sick dogs help in time and I'm so hoping this baby is getting her help now and can rest easy tonight. |
I'm not going to tell you to surrender your pup because I'm not into pressuring. Obviously she is in danger of losing her life. Members here are just really concerned about pups..moreso than people at times. There is more going on here than giardia. She needs lab work and possibly imaging immediately. A few things come to mind, all of which need urgent attention. A fever of 104 sn't severe, but what is causing the fever is. You can try this while you figure out a way to get to the ER: 01 Fever - VeterinaryPartner.com - a VIN company! Rubbing alcohol on the paws can also bring a fever down. My suggestions would be: Use a bank card and just let it overdraft. Call every ER around and beg for a payment plan. Ask for a manager. Agree that she stays on the premises until you have paid the bill (including boarding costs). Try the larger hospitals (local chains) first. They can soetimes allow payments. Consider a very small vet that may be on call tonight. they sometimes have realy big hearts. Pawn your valuables. Beg a vet to take her home on an IV with them to avoid hospitalization costs. |

Update? |
What time is Bunny's appt? Please, please update when you can! |
Don't be angry with us or me. I'm so sorry you were upset with me - I do get worried about sick dogs and go crazy - but please tell us Bunny girl is okay. What did your vet tell you and how is she coming along today? Did he need to change her medicine? Temp coming down at all? |
From one yorkie lover to another Please tell us how your precious baby is doing. All we want is the best for her and to make sure she will be alright and is safe and warm in your arms. I do not want you to go through the same hell I am going through. Believe me, it is life changing, and I am having difficulty functioning without my precious Muffin. If not for these wonderful souls in YT, I would be lost. Please know we care. Please know we don't want you to suffer the pain of what many of us have gone through. Please let us know she is okay, so we can breathe!!! Love, Shellie |
I'm sorry, but what are the apologies for? People ONLY tried to help this person. She has been online today so clearly she's around...she will post once she feels she has paid us back for having the gall to suggest she take her pup to a vet immediately. |

Let me remind you that the title of this thread was: Emergency!! Help pls I think we all tried to do that! People come here sometimes with these horror stories and want us to rubber stamp what is not in the best interest of the health of their pups... that is not something we should do IMHO. Sometimes the truth hurts ... she knew she needed to take that pup to a vet...she just did not want us to remind her. So...how ELSE could anyone really help? By praying that the pup did not die and telling her what a good mommy she is??? Really??? That is what some would say, but it is not in my mind to behave and lie to someone that way. I am hopeful that no matter how upset she is, she got that poor baby vetted and that all is ok now. That was my ONLY goal...to help her see how sick her pup was and that she needed to do something before she died. Simple as that. |
