| Puppy swallowed candy wrapper My 6 month old puppy Gryffin just swallowed a Reese's peanut butter cup wrapper whole. He was being watched but my niece dropped a wrapper and he was so fast I couldn't get to him in time. By the time I grabbed him he had swallowed it. The whole incident probably happened within 5 seconds of the wrapper being dropped. I called the emergency vet, and they said to watch him, and if he starts to throw up or has not passed it in a few days to come in. I am so worried though. I am scared to sleep cause I am afraid I will miss him throwing up. I am just so worried I can't think of anything else. I have never had a dog swallow something like that before. Has anyone had a dog swallow something similar? Did it pass or did it become an obstruction?

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I hope Gryffin is ok. I think it will be ok. One of mine ate a sizeable piece of a latex toy. She did pass it a couple of days later with no problems. I w surprised she was able to since it was a pretty big piece. Was it the little foil wrapper? Just keep an eye on him and get him to the vet if you see any vomiting or trouble pooping. I will keep him in my prayers.

| It should pass without any problem. My Huey is part goat and eats all kinds of things he shouldn't. He passes plastic bits from chewed ink pens, fluff from stuffed toys he has eviscerated, foil candy wrappers, part of a wicker chair (when he was younger than Gryffin) and all kinds of paper products. The only thing that gave him any problems was a plastic grocery bag. I have no clue how he got it or how much he ate, but he was kinda puky for a couple of days and then I saw it...I had no idea what it was or that he had eaten anything weird and had to examine more than I wanted, but figured out that was why he had been puky! But that, too, obviously passed, and it was a substantial piece of plastic bag. Gryffin should be ok, but of course if he starts vomiting or acting funny, I would take him in for a check.
