Awwwww I totally agree with you on those bad breeders, I too wish I knew where the girl was that almost killed my baby Gizmo I rescued. They don't care one bit and just think of making money, so sad I will be keeping Tibbe and you both in my thoughts and prayers for a very quick healing ((((BIG HUGS)))) |
Crystal, his former stools were mostly small little stools and had form, just mucus on top. One was only about the size of a 1/4 teaspoon - etc., until that one about 4:25 pm and that was watery, loose, mucus-filled and he obviously couldn't control it, probably thinking he was just passing gas and out it came all on the comforter! That's when I called the vet back and asked about how much fluid I should be getting into him and was told 10 ml. per hour! That's so much for a 6.6 lb. dog, to me! This has just panicked me a little more - he's trying to play, growling playfully at me and very alert, tail up, ears up, far different than he's been all day! Got his chewie that he hides and is playing around with it on the couch! Wonder if the Metro. is making him high or something. When I took Flagyl I felt weird the whole time I took it and maybe it's doing him the same way - giving him a false appetite and energy. Gosh! This is scary and terrible since I think it's false energy. Never seen one rally that fast. First he ate too much for his tummy/bowel in the state they are likely in and now he's played! While I was typing this he came and lay down on my legs so maybe that phase is past. Going to be watching him closely and if he has another stool soon, I'll probably run up to Albertson's and get that Kao if they have any. I wish I had asked the vet before they closed but with Lisa and Crystal both of you telling me it should be okay, I feel way better. Ohhhhh, this has been a bad, bad day and a half. Scary times. Thank you, ladies, for the prayers. We both need them. My stomach is even cramping and hurting some now. Ugh! |
Praying for sweet Tibbe and you that he recovers quickly. I hope you can both get some rest tonight. |

He will be ok. Diet will be a life long headache, but you'll get it figured out. How about cooking for him? Yes, it is ok. I specifically asked my vet for you. |

I understand how exhausting and worrisome it all is. Teddy has been battling diarrhea. He was better all day yesterday, but I made the mistake of giving him his kibble for dinner. After a rough night, I put him back on a bland diet and convinced him that he needs to eat the rice with the chicken. He hasn't produced anything in the last 12 hours. Hoping for firm production or we are off to the vet. Of course, Max is upset with all of disruptions. |

Crystal, you keep me from flying off into space and freaking all the way with just your words. When you speak, we listen! Means the world to have you there. Tibbe is still sound asleep but has moved off my legs to the end of the couch on all those thick towels and buried down in them. He's no longer so restless and waking every 15 minutes as he's done all day! That Metronidazole couldn't have worked that fast! But he's full of all that sugar water and food and no stool or vomiting yet! Oh, hoping and praying he can go a while before he needs to potty again. His poor little rectum was so red I had to put ointment on it to soothe it this afternoon. He kept scooting until I did that and then he just relaxed - must have felt so good. He actually went to sleep this afternoon after that ointment was in place for a couple of minutes. Hasn't scooted or turned toward his bottom since and he'd been doing that quite a bit, even scooting on the grass. I think that ointment helped right away. It has a coolness factor to it and cools, calms red, hot, irritated areas immediately. I only used a tiny, tiny bit since I wasn't sure it was okay for dogs but it's been about 8 hours since I did that and he's not scooted once since. And the redness of the tissue all gone - gone back to its regular coloring. |
