Olivia is sick again... :(
 

I just cannot believe this. :( My Olivia picked at her food in the morning yesterday...she does that sometimes. A bit later on I thought she smelled funny around her face as if she might have vomited, but didn't see anything. In the afternoon she did not want to eat at all....so I figured I would give her until this morning. Well...not only did she not eat but she was hiding out in a little dog house that I have in the family room.

Took her to my vet and while she felt gassy, she did not exhibit any pain. We tossed around the idea of whether to send labs our or do in house. Because of her history, I decided to do in house. OMG...she is a mess. :( All of her liver enzymes are elevated .. and her ALT is over 2,000 :( Her Bili is high and that is another worry because of her history of gall stones...she might have a blockage. :( Please God don't let that happen. Her temp is normal and her white count is fine. She has a history of gall stones...and cholangiohepatitis...here is an old thread for those who don't remember her:

I am just heartsick about this....my vet started her on fluids and I just came home to wait to hear something. My vet put in a call to GCVS .. I am fairly certain they will say to bring her in. :( :(

So sorry Linda.....hopefully this will just be a little flare up that can be resolved quickly and easily.....

Oh I SO hope so...but her liver enzymes have never really been elevated even when she was sick before. This is so worrisome. :(

Gee should we just start calling you "Job"?:eek: Hope it is nothing that can't be handled easily, if that is possible. Prayers for your both.

Olivia is in ICU. They are doing tests...they are extremely concerned because her values are sky high. This could be anything from lymphoma to bile duct blocked...to cholangiohepatitis which she does have a history of but she has never had elevated liver enzymes like this :( . They did ask about any toxic substances, but Olivia gets into nothing at all. She is under my nose most of the time and if we go outside, she mostly stays on the patio. I won\'t know anything more until later this evening. They are doing an ultrasound and a possible needle aspirate if they see a lesion .. also doing a test for lepto which really is unlikely. She is in extremely capable hands at MyGCVS .. that I do know. If anyone can help her, they can. I am just sick over this. My sweet baby hates for anyone to touch her but her mom. :(

Olivia's ultrasound was unremarkable! While that is good news, they still need to get her numbers down. They will continue her IVs and meds tonight and recheck her lab values tomorrow and take it from there. IF they go down she may be discharged tomorrow afternoon and have to go back in a few days for follow up. Definitely sounds better than when I left there this afternoon.

Linda, I'm sorry that your little one is not well. I'm praying that she will be better soon.

What a sweet, beautiful baby Olivia is! I hope she gets better quickly. You are both in my thoughts and prayers.

Olivia is coming home today!! Her bilirubin is normal now. Her ALT while still elevated, has come down. She will be on antibiotics, denamarin, ursodiol, enalapril and aspirin. That is all I remember her saying....I think that is it. She did eat this morning. I know she will be happy to be out of there.
I will update later after I know more. Thank you for praying for my little girl! :)

More wonderful news! I am very happy to hear she ate breakfast and that she is coming home today! Olivia remains in my prayers for her to completely stabilize.

Oh my goodness! Glad as I kept reading the updates that they continued to get more and more positive :)! Happy to hear she is coming home.

Seeing the meds she's on, it made me wonder just how many meds you must have to give every day to the rescue kiddos. I mean really, I can't imagine....and I think I have it bad w/ Wylie's meds :rolleyes:.

I have fallen in love with Olivia from that sweet little picture. Look at he little nubby tail, her little foot, her little head and ears and her BIG eyes. I'm so glad she better and coming home today. I pray her number stay right where they are supposed to be.
