Thanks. Yes, it's hard to find someplace better to go, but I enjoyed cruising around the San Juan Islands on BF's boat. The Pacific Northwest is nice, but only in summer:D

Glad to be home and it's National Dog Day, so taking the day off to play with fur girls:D:D

I hear the San Juan Islands are a nice place to visit. I have never been to the Northwest.

Linda, just read your longer post to Sandy, and wanted to say that I very much appreciate all you do to help us with health issues, etc., etc. Sorry you have had such a tough year and I do not know how you do it.

YorkieTalk would not be the same without you and for the life of me I do not understand the pattern that sometimes happens, when someone posts in the sick and emergency area and people start chiming in getting on the case of the person giving suggestions. Like you said in that forum, please post in the thoughts and prayers forum, if that is what you want or need.

Anyway, hope Olivia is having a good day.

Thanks, Lisa. I really fear that if we continue to discuss this, my sweet Olivia's thread will be hijacked. I really don't want to do that. While I so appreciate all of you, I ask that further comments not be made about what I said, please. PM me if you wish, but I was just talking because my feelings were very hurt.... and I really have had a lot and I really do feel a lot of pain over many things that have happened this year...most especially four precious pups who went to the Bridge. Just been rough.

Hi Linda, just wanted to check in and see how Olivia's doing with her medication. I am so sorry to see that it's came down to using a pill popper for her. Poor baby, I can only imagine how hard that is for her and you as well. :(

Thanks, Carla. The good part is that it really is not every time she has to take meds. Usually the biggest issue is in the morning..she is not as hungry I think. She eats less food and is not interested in a treat/med. The evening on an empty tummy, I have no choice. Before bed, she usually takes her meds without a problem. So...all in all it's ok .. could be worse. I do hate when I have to use that thing...I feel like I am torturing her because she just fights so hard not to swallow it. Shes a mess my little girl.

Olivia went for follow up labs today and she is doing fantastic!!!! The only abnormality she had in her blood work was a slight bilirubin elevation. To think that her ALT was over 2,000 not that long ago and is now WNL. I am just ecstatic!! Love my vet and also the specialists at GCVS!

I need to post a thank you thread about this little piggy tshirt dress that I got from Kristin/Maximo/W.Fields .. it was quite the hit today at the vet and also at CVS when we went there later. :)

Doesn't she look healthy? I am so happy!!!!

I am very happy to hear that Olivia received a great follow up report today and that her ALT is within normal range!!

She is darling, and yes, she looks very healthy and bright eyed! Love the Little Piggy shirt on her. Absolutely adorable.

Been one of those weeks. While I have a foster who needs extra care, I also had a granddog who was very very sick. I took her to the specialist for my DIL the other day and she was admitted to ICU. She has a brain lesion which we already knew, but some GI stuff really did a number on her. We do know her time is limited with us, but we gave her a couple of days to see if she responded and thankfully she did. She was discharged yesterday and is home doing fairly well. I also had to take my Olivia and Cookie in for their checkups and yesterday I got the results of Olivia's UPC. It has risen to 3.4 which is not so great (last one was 2.4), so the specialist has increased her dose of Enalapril. He said that while it is not an ideal situation he is pleased that her blood work is fine. Her albumin is normal which is a good thing. Hopefully this will help her. Cookie is fine..I will update her thread.

Sorry to hear Olivia's UPC went up, hopefully the increased dose will help bring it down. Does she act any different when her UPC goes up? Pixie's decreased to 1.0 with the doubling of her Enalapril.

No, she does not act differently at all. It is like this sneaky little thing...makes me crazy.

SO happy to hear that Pixie's is down to 1.0! That is great news!! :)

This time was 5 months ... they had said 6. But now she will be checked in one month and probably every 3 after that IF she is stable.

Thanks, Kristin. She has a brain lesion that in the end will get her....but just trying to get a bit more quality time. She had an episode of vomiting and was badly dehydrated. She is home now after two days in the ICU and is eating and doing pretty well. She is 15 years old. A little darling dachshund. :)

Aww, I am sorry to hear about your grandpuppy. Glad she is doing better now. I think I met her a few years ago at the dog show and she was precious.
