| Help!! The sun is coming up here at 5:30 in the morning. We have been awoken numerous times by our brand new yorkie, Molly ( who needs rest anyway?? lol). I am not new to dogs, I've had them my entire childhood. Currently we have two rescued senior male dogs both are 10 years old. One 5 lbs. yorkshire and a 20 lbs dachshund. My first yorkshire had bladder stones so I'm familiar with health issues and it was a crazy beginning I had with him. but I never gave up and now he's my most precious thing. We thought it would be fun to add to our doggy family by having a younger yorkshire since we love the breed so much. Yesterday, we found Molly who was selling for $400. Her old owner told us that she's already had two litters of puppies within the year. She's so thin, you can feel each and every bone on her. She's 1 year and 9 months old. She's got tummy problems so she's constatly pooping and it's borderline diarrhea. She's had gone to the bathroom the whole night. She's constantly hungry and thirsty. The seller said that by the end of the month her puppies will be eight weeks. Her breasts are very warm today and traces of milk are coming out. Her demeanor is so sweet. She just attaches herself to you. I'm going to the vet today asap. I couldn't leave her, although in the back of mind I'm thinking this is going to be an expensive vet bill. She has matted fur and just looks really pathetic. I've heard of puppy mills but what do they do with the mamma's of them?? I wasn't invited in the home. Shouldn't she be with her puppies still?? how much weight does the mother lose when they give birth?? Is she overbreed when she's less then two years old???? She just seems so mistreated. |

| Hi and Welcome to YT! Thank you for helping this little girl. The vet is the best place to go to help her, be sure to tell them she's a rescue, they may give you a break on the prices. Two litters by her age is a lot, most are not bred until 2 YO. She probably has worms, and may have not been fed a quality diet. Yes, 8 weeks is too soon, although many remove the pups if they're weaned by then. Good Luck and let us know how it goes... Sorry, I just reread... by the end of the month? August or July the pups will be 8 weeks old?

Yeah, the end of august they'll be eight weeks. She wasn't too forth coming with the information. I had first asked for a puppy and she told me that she couldn't sell them until they were eight weeks by the end of august. We literally did the whole transaction in the parking lot. | |

| Hi, I hope you get her to the vet today. I agree, she was too young to breed in the 1st place. I'm so glad you saved her! Other than that, I can't offer you much help. Others should be on soon to offer better suggestions. Until then, make that vet appointment!

| She's way too young to have had 2 litters. I've had multiple puppy mill dogs and they are wonderful once you get through the initial issues. And there will be issues. I would kerp her isolated from your other dogs until the vet clears her. Many of them have parisites, worms and fleas. Right now we are having trouble with fur mites, a little different from skin mites. Usually we have toshave them down to check their skin condition, but if she is badly matted that might be the most comfortable thing to do for her. Check with your vet about what to feed. Changinging the type and quality to fast may be too much for her. Good luck. You will get to know your vet very well the first few months. |

| Thank you everyone for answering!! The vet told us she was severe starved. So we feed her every two hours and finally she calmed down with food. She needs some grooming which isn't hard but otherwise her eyes and teeth are good. I wonder how much she should weight, her frame is big. I love the huge paws on her!! Vet said we'll find out soon. In her state right now she's 8.5 lbs, you can see every single bone on her. We did the worming/parasite test and several other tests so the results are coming back today. The vet confirmed our suspicions that the records of her from her old vet was only to see if she could breed at less then 1 years old. she's also missing a rabies shot, she's too weak at the moment to get it so she'll get it later. We love her already!! |
