| ![]() He slept in the crate all night beside our bed last night. Had no clue where he was or what was going on. Took him to vet this morning and she said his incision looked excellent. He is on Rimadyl for pain and I am to continue giving him Simplicef antibiotic until his stitches come out. He is almost back to his ornery self. The little stinker is SO fast I can't always catch him when he tries to jump up on the couch or down and the doggy stairs are there. He won't use them. I'm wondering if it hurts more to climb two steps as opposed to one short jump. He has been resting and sleeping all evening. One thing that concerned me is when he goes out to pee, he will dribble and then stand there straining to pee. So I called the vet to make sure that was normal and she said as long as he pees and then stands there it is fine. She said he has "a lot going on down there" and that he's probably still a bit inflamed and not sure what's going on down there. He stands there a long time while he pees. He did pee a little bit on the pee pad sometime tonight and there was a little bit of blood but was told that's to be expected. Now a couple of the stitches above his penis are pink but she said that might happen as well. So all in all he's doing very good I think. He is now on Hills K-9 renal kibble and treats. She said we might have to change it once we get his stone results back. THANK YOU YT'ers for caring and asking about Toby. He's a very special little guy to me like yours are to you.

| ![]() I will definitely be posting the results when I get them. Today he finally started bruising down there (looks like blood blisters) which spooked me a little but the vet said that could happen. Poor little guy looks miserable but I'm sure the stitches are going to start bothering him in a day or two.

| ![]() Jenny, that really is the color of the stone.........weird huh? Karen, Toby is doing good. Am a little concerned that when he goes out to potty (and he does pee) he will go to another spot and squat and strain to pee and will stay in that position for a LONG time. I'm guessing the stitches on his bladder are healing and it probably feels weird to him and he is so used to thinking he has to pee all the time he is still trying. We went camping this weekend and I was able to keep a closer eye on him. Stitches look great and he hasn't started licking at them yet. Only four more days! He was quite the trooper. He wouldn't even try to jump down off the bed at the camper this weekend like he normally does. He just stood there waiting for one of us to put him down. He definitely is back to his normal bossy self and running around like nothing is wrong with him! The first pic is him on the bench next to me around the campfire last night. He is perfectly content as long as he with people. The second pic is of him in the car coming home today and the last pic is him chilling out after being home and getting a full belly. (Thanks for asking about him Karen!)

Toby looks so content slumbering beside the fire. Hope he'll be able to pee normally soon.

| ![]() I have been sort of MIA (been very busy) Diane and missed this. So happy to hear that Toby is doing well post surgery! One of my fosters recently had surgery for a huge bladder stone and he had issues with squatting and straining for some time after the surgery...I would say maybe 8 - 10 days. Then, he was fine! ![]()
