| Vomiting Pup worried mom Winnie just threw up 3 times in the past 30 minutes. All three were liquid. It is really hot tonight so I gave her some Karo syrup and then gave her a small handful of food which she scarfed down but she wont drink any water. It's been about 10 minutes since her last vomit but should I be worried right now and take her to the ER or should I wait a bit to see if she vomits again? Please HELP!

| She is also acting lethargic and her breathing seems a bit shallow but it is 4 am so I can't tell if its just because its late and shes tired or if it is something more serious. She did go to the vet last Wednesday because she dislocated her knee cap and is on limited activity and taking Rymdal until next Wednesday when she sees the vet again for x rays and possible surgery. I thought this information might be needed.

| Sorry for the annoying massive posts, should I try and keep her awake? Or should I let her sleep which is what she is insisting on doing.

| So I woke up at 8 am to find out that Winnie had thrown up twice again this morning. Should I still wait the full 24 hours? Please help.

| Poor Winnie girl! How is she doing now? I would call your vet, if you haven't already. I think I would also hold the Rimadyl and food to rest her tummy -- but ask your vet. You mentioned that it is really hot. Do you have air conditioning, or is it possible she got overheated?

| Has Winnie been given Pyrantel in the last few days? It is the banana flavored dewormer that a lot of vets give as an 'umbrella' dewormer. It can have some pretty severe side effects. Sprout had it when he was a puppy and became very ill for a few days. Gypsy doesn't have any worms and they tried to give her some of it as a precaution and I said no way Jose. |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Sorry I am just seeing this. If you haven't gotten Winnie to a vet and she is still acting sick I would get her in. It could be a reaction to the medicine. I hope she is feeling better.

| Hello all, She hasn't been doing much better. I called the vet but they couldn't fit her in, I missed a call from them asking for me to take her in as they would make room for her but by the time I had called them back they were about to close and asked me to bring her in tomorrow. I have brought her to the one room in my house with air conditioning. Its about 90 degrees outside. We dont do AC for environmental reasons but we do have an AC in the attic that we use on rare occasions. She seems to be doing a bit better with the AC but she has vomited since she has been in the AC as well. I was told not to feed her anything and keep up with the water. The vet didnt mention anything about pedialite what are your thoughts on that? I will obviously be taking her to the ER if anything else happens but the ER is 3X the cost as the vet so anything I can do to help her hold out till then would be great. She is still having bowel movements and as far as temperment she is pretty normal. She has been on Rymdal for almost a week now and this is the first episode. I obviously wont be giving it to her tonight ir in the AM since she is vomiting anyways and probably wont be able to hold it down.

Oh man poor baby! Peanut is really heat sensitive too. I would defiantly give her some pedialite!! You can also stick a toothpick in an ice tray, then pour some pedilite in there- freeze them. It makes pedialite Popsicle. This worked really well for Peanut and he was sick a couple months ago. It was just a little bug, but he wasn’t drinking as much as he should- he loved to lick them and he was able to get hydrated from it!! Hope she gets better soon it is so scary when they are sick.

| Yes it is rather scary. It doesnt help that she had her knee dislocation last week and we are still waiting in the decision for surgery AND we are doing MAJOR home renos in our house. I have been doing them all and have been working with intense chemicals and dangerious materials. I have been doing the renos one room at a time and keeping her out of all work spaces but it still has added a lot of stress. Especially for her since she is us to free reign and being with me all the time.

| What kind of chemicals are you using? Are there fumes from these chemicals? Her since of smell is way better than yours maybe that is why she is vomiting. I would keep her away from wherever you are working. There was another post about this same thing. Hope your baby feels better soon.

| Paint stripper and wallpaper remover. The paint stripper is being used outside on a deck on the secondfloor which she has never had access to, nor does she have access to anywhere near it. The wall paper remover is being used in a spare room that she has been blocked from getting into.
