![]() So sorry for Adonis, and you too. Renal failure is a scary illness, I've been there, and it is so hard to see him sick and in intensive care. He will feel better with the hydration and I hope his illness can be managed after he is home again. Thoughts and prayers for Adonis. Hugs.

![]() Thanks for all the prayers. Please continue them. Today, I've been up there a bunch of times. One time he'll be doing better, next time, worse. Just been up and down all day long. ![]() been a horrible day. I just hope my boy makes it, and this can be managable.

![]() How I feel for you with the roller coaster that renal failure disease has you riding. I have been on that crazy ride. The hydration restores the dog to normalcy for a while, and then the plug is pulled and he is back down again. It depends on how much function the kidney has left. If it is caught early, keeping on home hydration every few days can keep the dog relatively normal and happy. I pray that after the current crisis is over you can maintain him at home. I have heard of many pets who live for many years with home treatment and special diet. So there is hope, please don't give up! Sadly my dog was too far along when we realized he was sick and the home hydrations only worked for about an hour before he relapsed. We could not see her so sick and we had to let her go. Thinking of you and praying dear Adonis will perk up and stay well. Hugs.

![]() Just went to see him, his BUN level has dropped in 1/2....Normal is 10-26 mg/dl. the 27th his was 140 ![]() ![]() Last night he looked like death. This morning, he was perky, glad to see me, took a trot outside to pee, and was SO MUCH better! They upgraded him to the suite below. its twice as large as the crate he was in. They have pee pads in there, and he's never used one before, but my other Yorkie uses them. Wished I'd never have pee pad trained Venus. So right now feeling much better. But that 7:30 am call this morning to tell me he was so much better scared me to death ![]()

![]() That's awesome that his numbers dropped so much and so fast. Were you aware that he had kidney failure or is this a new diagnosis? If you're new to this and just learning, I would suggest that you join a couple of the kidney groups on Yahoo. There are two that are very good, and you'll learn a lot. K9KidneyDiet and K9kidneys. Many dogs live a long time with kidney failure. The disease can usually be managed with diet and sub q fluids at home. Thinking of you and Adonis. Diana and the Scoobster

![]() I am so happy to hear about your little Adonis!!! Those groups for people that have babies with kidney failure, will really shed a ton of light on how you can live with the disease and they are a great source of support! Will continue to pray for you and your baby!

![]() things went to H*ll in a handbasket when they lowed his IV fluid last night. His creatinine skyrocketed from what it was the 27th. The 27th it was 2.8 the 30th was 1.8 today 3.3 ![]() ![]() the vet at ER did say this can be managed at home, if they can teach me how to put an IV in. I never liked needles, so God help both me and him. haven't talked to my holistic vet yet to see if there is something she can give him to keep that number down. I've cried since I left the vets office. And yes, this is something new to me and him both. Not sure how much longer I'll have my boy.

![]() So sad that you had a down day, it is very distressing the way this disease can have you up one minute and down the next. It is so uplifting when the pet surges with vim and vigor after the hydration, and that keeps us going. The home hydration is not easy for everyone to take on; luckily I have a medic husband who could do the IV as I could never do that. Hopefully you will be able to manage this procedure and it will not have to be done too often. I don't know if holistic medicine will help unless the kidney damage is minimal. I am sure all this is new to you, as it was to us, but many are here to support you when you need it. That helps a lot. Prayer for little Adonis and you.

![]() So sorry to know you have been through this pain. Thank God only once for me, but I cannot imagine three times. Bless their three little hearts, I know what they and you went through.
