Puppies are the most fragile at 5-8 weeks of age....get some kind of sugar in him and get to the vet......you will need to watch the other pups closely....do you allow other people outside of the family, in to see the babies????

Care credit requires payments...he has no $ right now and future $ should go in to the care of his family...no job usually means no care credit anyways...it's like a credit card, really.

Not only is vet care during sickness a very important part of responsible pet ownership, so is preventative and wellness checks. So I am assuming then NONE of the other pups nor that momma has been to the vet either?

In all honesty, I am quite surprised the other pups haven't already been sold. 8 weeks old?

To the OP: the situation is the pup needs to see a vet. He could die. If you don't have the money, apply for Care Credit. Sell something, do without something for a month. Or surrender the pup to someone who can properly take care of him. People gave you good advice on here. Maybe not what you wanted to hear? None of us are vets. We can't give you free vet advice to save your pup. You need to go to the vet asap. You bred these dogs. It is your responsibility.

I applied for Care Credit when I technically didn't have a job, and no bank account in my name. Somehow I still got approved.

Please, do not be done, your suggestion is absolutely what any caring loving owner should do at times like this...hard times demand that intelligent/responsible decisions be made with/for the best interests of all.

I did not, and even with a house for collateral I was denied. How long ago was that?

I am so sorry you have gotten yourself into this position....I feel even worse for the poor innocent babies that did not ask to be brought into this situation. You dont EVER breed dogs unless, among a MULTITUDE of other "must haves", you MUST have at least $3000.00-$5000.00 in the special dog account, for emergencies just like this. What in the world would you have done if the momma had needed a c-secion?????????? Why in the world would you have a litter of puppies that you had no way to provide even basic medical care in case of an emergency??????? You need to relenquish these dogs to a rescue that can provide for them, hopefully before that puppy dies.....and if the baby has parvo, ....well, its all over but the hole digging. I am soooooooooo sorry for the puppies............please give that deathly ill baby a hug and a kiss from me.........

I knew saying something would open me up to this argument. All I was saying is, before you tell him to give up all his dogs, offer a solution instead of jumping on him. So many new people come here for help, and all they get is told how bad they are, and they shouldn't own a dog/ dogs. I didn't mean to offend, was just trying to get people to see that helping him with his dog is helping the dog in the long run because, he will stay here and learn from us.
True, people shouldn't have dogs if they can't afford them, but atm, what choice does he have? I told him 2 good things to do, 1 was short term, 1 was a long term, if you consider Care credit as a long term solution to his money problems when it comes to vet bills.
I realize your a breeder, I've seen your site before. Would you really have him give up at pup at 8 weeks when we all know its best for them to stay till they're 12 weeks old? If he gave them up now, we'd yell because he did :( It's a no win situation!
Getting the pup better is the best thing for now. And I hopefully gave him good advice. I have breed mini schnauzers, and if I needed help for one that was having problems, I'd try the internet 1st, then the vet if I have little cash to spare.

I'm hoping his job problem gets better before he breeds again.

And if my saying that to you was rude, and keeps you from enjoying this site, I am truly sorry. I just see way too many people come here for help and aren't helped. We're all here because we love the breed, and want to help each other. You have a vast amount of knowledge, don't let me keep you from sharing it. I didn't intend for that to happen at all. :( :(

You have things mixed up here...a very sick 8 wk old puppy to a rescue for health care versus an unethical breeding giving healthy pups away at 8 wks...are no where near the same...

You brought this puppy into this world so it is your responsibility to get it what it needs it did not ask to be born and suffer and be sick. This puppy needs to go to the vet NOW! If you can't do that you have to turn the puppy over to someone who can. If this puppy dies without you seeking treatment for it that is what your kids will remember for the rest of there lives.

Years of valuable, ethical, responsible breeding knowledge, being "chased off" because some other member jumps THE BREEDER that is offering the ONLY solution this person has.......some people just do not understand how gut wrenching situations like this affect breeders that have literally devoted their lives to breeding these dogs, doing it right, doing it out of NOTHING but love for the breed. The loss of this breeder and her valuable input is a terrible loss for this forum.....I am soooooooo sorry for that......she could have done sooooooo much good to soooooooo many people that needed it. This is a sad day for YT.....The BREEDER did NOTHING wrong!!!!!! It is this type of senseless badgering of the KNOWLEDGABLE breeders, that run them all away.............

I hope the Adm. does not close the thread.....members, new and old, need to see exactly what runs valuable breeders away from this forum. If experienced, QUALIFIED, breeders that have a proven record, are harrassed and chastised and insulted and run off by other members that do not like their response, for whatever reason, and members turn and eat our own, simply because they think possible "hurt feelings" trump knowledgable, workable, solutions to problems (that people who should have never bred dogs in the first place), then this forum is destined to become nothing but a politically correct, feel good, back patting, love fest, with no experienced breeders/show people around to teach us all! THOSE ARE THE PEOPLE WE LEARN FROM!!

You can't close this thread just because people don't agree with YOU. Maybe you have not noticed but most are on the opposite of you because they are trying to SAVE A LIFE.

As for your comments that no one helps anyone on YT you are completely out of line and wrong. I see so many people getting help here .. I don't know what you have been reading. But, that is another topic altogether.

I hope this puppy is ok....OP my offer stands if you need help placing this puppy somewhere for help. We will do all we can to help him.
