YT 2000 Club Member | Hypoglycemic episode! I just had a scare with my little girl! Tatiana is 19 weeks and about 2 lbs and she had a episode of low blood sugar! It is warm here today and we had been outside playing. She had been running, wrestling and playing when around a little before 5:00 she started acting weird! She wanted to be held and started shaking, wobbling and just want to go to sleep but couldn't get comfortable. I realized what was going on and ran in to feed her supper. Even after she ate, she was still trembling! I quickly got out the Nutra Cal and gave her a good size drop. Called the vet and she said to also give some Karo syrup and get her to drink lots of water, which I did. The vet said it was probably a combination of being dehydrated and low blood sugar! She is fine now.........wow, that was scary!!!! My little peanut scared the life out of me and I do not want to experience that again. I will have to watch her close from now on!

| So glad she is ok it must of been awful. I used to always give Pixie nutria cal after she played bc she was such a crazy player She would tire herself out something fierce! I was always afraid of the hypoglycemic episode so after she played I would give her a little nutria cal.

| Thank goodness she has a sharp-eyed mommie and suspected a serious problem and acted fast to help her in the right way. Next time you might ask the vet if you should give the Nutrical first and zap that glucose in to shore her levels up fast and f/u with the food. I don't doubt you saved her life. She would likely have fainted and gone into coma without the sugar and food fast.

| Wow, close call and you were quick to figure it out and do something. Maybe have water handy all over the place, inside and out, and give her the Nutri-Cal each day for a week or so.

| Good job momma! Hopefully she is going to grow out of this....usually when they hit 3-4 ;bs, they get past this....I would give her the NutraCal every morning, any time she is about to go out and play hard, and again when she comes in from playing plus her meal....and I would give her a little more at bedtime. NutraCal 3-4 times a day is certainly not going to harm her and it may keep her from going thru this again. |
