				   | How's your mom, Kim? Is she doing better?

				   | I was away at a scrapbook retreat with my daughter, and I'm just now seeing this. Jeanie, thank you for asking. Mom is still a bit swollen and itchy. She is on an antibiotic to prevent infection. She said her hands still feel like pins and needles. She is still taking prednisone. It's amazing that she is still having symptoms over a week later. Those darn ants are just awful. Huge lesson learned. My poor mom!

				   | Kim, I just read about what happened to your mom. I'm sorry she has been in such pain and discomfort due to those nasty things! I live in Alabama, so I know how bad fire ants can be! One thing I use on the mounds in the dog's yard is diatomatous earth, which is non-toxic, but deadly for the ants! It takes a day or so to do the job, but it does work! Also, milk thistle is a great detoxer for dogs and humans, with some exceptions. Dogs need it to be glycerine-based, not alcohol based, and people on certain medications ( antidepressants like cetalopram, for one example) cannot take milk thistle. I don't mean to sound like a know-it-all, I just had to research it before I gave it to Neo, and found out about the other stuff. |
