| Just a scare... Peek A Boo and I just got back from the vet. The past two days I thought I could hear fluid in his lungs. He's always had a chronic cough, not heart related, but he seemed to be coughing less. (Just intermitant coughs like after eating or a drink, upon waking, during excitement). I thought I could hear bubbling noises on his inspiration. as he had pneumonia in 2009, I've been a worrywort about it possibly recurring. So to the vet we go, The vet didn't hear fluid but coarse lung sounds, attributed to age (he's 16 YO). He was panting a lot during the exam, so to be on the safe side, and to havea referrence for later in the future if need be, I opted to have xrays done, to put my mind at ease. Good news: No fluid in his lungs. also he put on a bit of weight, like .04 pounds or so. He got a bit thin there for a bit, thin skinned and I couldn't feel any fat under the skin at all, so I was getting very concerned there. Vet said he is in pretty good body condition for a senior! Got a feeling this may be an expensive year!

| Awww, Kathy, bless his heart. I didn't realize he was a little elder Yorkie! I'm so glad that you know what to listen for and got him in and he got a vet clearance. That's good news though I know you are still going to be on pins and needles for a while yet until you are certain nothing is going on. Hopefully he just had a tad of accumulation of fluid briefly from some irritant he'd breathed in and it resolved itself with a little swelling left that is too subtle to be picked up or finally went away just before his appointment. I'll keep you and PeekABoo in my prayers - I'm at them alot lately - and hope that this is nothing and resolved itself. Amazing that you have a 16 year old! Try not to worry anymore than you just have to - easy to say, huh?

| Yes he's got all his routines down, any deviation in them and I'm a basket case, lol! He still beats me into the kitchen at feed time, expects treats for everything and then some, still likes his walks... the other day I took him out without a leash... thinking he'd just go pee on his favorite plant... NOT! Down the street he takes off over to pee on the neighbor's mailbox! (We're off a secluded back road, hardly any traffic ever). My Little Buddy... gonna give his Mama heart failure!
