Just a scare... Peek A Boo and I just got back from the vet. The past two days I thought I could hear fluid in his lungs. He's always had a chronic cough, not heart related, but he seemed to be coughing less. (Just intermitant coughs like after eating or a drink, upon waking, during excitement). I thought I could hear bubbling noises on his inspiration. as he had pneumonia in 2009, I've been a worrywort about it possibly recurring. So to the vet we go,
The vet didn't hear fluid but coarse lung sounds, attributed to age (he's 16 YO). He was panting a lot during the exam, so to be on the safe side, and to havea referrence for later in the future if need be, I opted to have xrays done, to put my mind at ease.
Good news: No fluid in his lungs. also he put on a bit of weight, like .04 pounds or so. He got a bit thin there for a bit, thin skinned and I couldn't feel any fat under the skin at all, so I was getting very concerned there. Vet said he is in pretty good body condition for a senior!
Got a feeling this may be an expensive year! |
