| Mike, I'm so glad to see Miss Jillie is now home and that her ear will heal quickly. I agree with other's, Jillie's ear really looks good and with her gorgeous hair, she'll always be beautiful! So sorry she lost 3 teeth though. I know it will probably will always be a mystery what really happened but I'm glad to see you're considering changing groomers taking in account what happened with Eddie recently and now Jillie. Years ago my aunt was a groomer and I'd go daily to assist her with the grooming. An elderly lady brought in a Yorkie that had never been groomed before so needless to say he was quite a nervous little guy. As my aunt started trimming the hair around his ears ,he really began to get startled and started nipping and jumping around bc of the sound of the scissors. Then it happened, she cut his ear! She immediately applied pressure to the ear with a cold wet rag to stop the bleeding, then applied baby powder to help the ear clot. It worked, the bleeding stopped completely. I called her vet to let them know she was bringing him in and then the owner to let her know her know what happened and that her dog would be alright. I stayed at the shop to wait for the owner while my aunt took the dog to the vet. I'll never forget the look of horror on the owner's face when my aunt returned with her Yorkie. I thought the poor owner was going to have a heart attack, the vet had wrapped his WHOLE HEAD with white gauze to prevent him from rubbing his ear and causing more bleeding. All I could see was two eyes and a snout, poor little guy looked like a mummy! My point is that I know from this experience, my aunt was able to stop the bleeding and bc of his long hair, I couldn't see the cut once he was taken off the grooming table. Sending hugs to Jillie and wishing her a speedy recovery. |

| Mike, I don't think you should dwell on the how's because there will not be an answer. They say go with your gut feeling because it's always right, so good for you in finding another groomer. One thing I would suggest you tell the next groomer is not to cut her ear hair. I'd just leave it alone from now on. I groom my girls, but I never use scissors on the ears. It's just too easy to nick or cut them. Jillian will do just great with three less teeth..........I know, because two of mine went for cleaning on the same day a couple months ago and both had three teeth each pulled. Three on the upper back on one, and three on the lower back on the other. Hasn't slowed them down from nawing on their beef femur bones. Odd that their teeth had gotten so bad, especially since I brush them every night and they get lots of chewing actions. The Vet. said Yorkies are known for having terrible teeth, and if I had not been brushing at all, they would have lost a lot more teeth than they did. My oldest, Zada, has never needed a dental and has the best teeth ever and she's going on 8. Thank goodness her teeth are so great because she's the one with a collapsed trachea and the Vet. doesn't think putting her under would be a good idea anyway. I don't want to give your beautiful Jillian a nic-name. She's too special to do that. I just love your girl and is why I named my youngest, Jilli Ann after her. Hugs to Jillian and her pack. Blessing to each of you.

| Glad all went well at the vet with the ear. I agree, no one will ever notice it. Hate that about the teeth, but she is still beautiful, nonetheless. As far as nicknames, I like jacksmom's suggestion of Tippy!
