♥Love My 3 Furrbutts♥ Donating Member | ![]() This is so scary...praying a specialist can find some answers for little Dozer. I agree with the other posters, a specialist or vet school asap.

| ![]() I am so sorry for you and your little fella. I would get him to a vet school too. They worked wonders on my Zhoie who had AAI sirgery at NCSU. vet schools have amazing staff and facilities. You can go in through their ER and they will stablize him and then refer him to what speciality is needed. Keeping Dozer in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs to you both.

| ![]() Hello all: update, and thank you so much for your advice. I am just blessed for finding such support on here! I live in a very rural area of Vermont. Unfortunately teaching schools are not really much around. That being said, I did put a call into our state university to see if I get anywhere, but of course, am awaiting a call back. Dozer spent the day at the hospital, with fluids and a decrease in meds. Slowly, he regained his mobility, and some alertness. He is home, but still; not the same. I can tell you, as mom, there is still something wrong. He is on half the dose of the meds, and the only explanation the vet was able to come up with was some sort of toxic shock from all the GI inflammatation. Don't get me wrong, I am glad I switched vets; I do have faith in this woman- much more than the last place which I believe has been letting my dog slowly die for the last six months, while whiling my bank account clean. Anyways, he has had one bowel movement since home and is currently curled in my lap comfortably. I'm supposed to give him Gatorade for electrolytes (planning on syringing every 3-4 hours throughout the night) and we will keep our fingers crossed for tomorrow. Still a worried mama. Thank you ALL for your kind words; advice; encouragement; support; and prayers. I believe it is helping. On a side note, I'm sorry if my formatting is off, I'm typing from a phone as I don't want to disturb my furbaby prince! :0) |

| ![]() Thank you for the update. I've been thinking of your little guy. If there is anyway to get to the vet school small animal E.R at the university, they are very thorough and have the latest equipment for diagnosis and treatment. At least the local vets wont be able to keep bleeding your wallet, when they have no idea what is going on. I found NCSU was much lower in cost than the private practice neuro quack we went to. Continuing prayers and positive thoughts for a peaceful night for you and Dozer.

| ![]() So sorry about your baby. My oldest yorkie, Winston, had bleeding gastroenteritis once and it sort of sounds the same. Though I am not sure. I am glad he is better and you have him home. You both sound as if you could use a very good night's sleep. Prayers coming your way for your both! |

| ![]() I am sorry you are going thru this with that precious baby....I know how gut wrenching the emotions are when your baby is in the condition Dozer is in......and the not knowing for sure, what is going on, so you can get a curative plan of care going, in addition to the supportive care he is getting now. Stay on that phone with that University....here we are at the weekend, so you probably are out of luck until Monday.....I would be googling the closest vet school to you and be preparing to head that way. You dont have time on your side, and I feel like a vet school will have any specialist and any equipment you need, readidly available....no more searching for someone to address an issue....I am praying for you and Dozer......praying He gives you the insight you need to formulate a plan and praying Dozer returns to his wonderful little self. |
