Yorkie Talker | Help excessive licking hello all i need a little help ming keeps lickin his paw at first it was jeshis right front now its both i couldnt realli see tht well due to all his fur so i trimmed the fur a little around the area i noticed him licking the most andthefist nail on each paw look a little red and swollen i dnt kno wht i shud do ... wht causes this and andwht can or shud i do to help my little guy i will be takin him in to the vet but in the mean time wht cani do

| The Vet will be your best answer. They can tell if there is a problem with the nail your baby might have caught it on something or it may be allergies as the pollen count is high this spring. Good luck at the vets.

Donating Member | Yes, I agree with Buster, a vet check is in order, while sometimes food allergies can cause paw itching, I would worried it might be something more serious since you say it looks swollen. There’s something called a Foxtail, that can get lodged in between their toes, and it’s very painful and should be caught as soon as possible because they can work their way up further the foot.
