| Troy Update Some of you guys know that Troy had an emergency vet visit last Friday. Well the treatment plan from that visit was to have him on lactulose and prednislone until his follow up visit. The vet suspected liver shunt, bacterial encephalitis and granulomas encephalitis. Well after blood work, his liver function was substantially low, but to fully determine liver shunt they suggested he have an ultrasound. I have yet to have one but the goal is to get one soon but until then the meds have been reducing his symptoms. Troy is 3 years old due to turn 4 in July. I've had a lot on my mind about medically treating vs. surgical treatment. Done a lot of google/yorkie talk searches on pros and cons. But that's all i have for now.

| Prayers for Toby. I hope you will be able to get him diagnosed soon. It is impossible to know what the right treatment is until you know exactly what it is.

| Rachel, I am keeping Troy in my prayers. I know this is so hard on you. We never want to put our littles under anesthesia. I agree with the above - just wait on the diagnosis before getting too worked up and stressed. Once you have the diagnosis, you can set forth a plan of attack. Also, I wanted to say that I hope he keeps responding to the meds until then. And, as I mentioned in the other thread, it would be great if you both can make our meet-up in Alabama next month. Hang in there! Let us know what the ultrasound says - when are you having that?

| Troy started to have an episode of drooling, restlessness and pacing today so I took him to the vet. She said that she wants him to have a Neuro consult before the internal medicine one to rule out something neurological based on these clinical signs. Troy can't see and won't come when called. So it's possible his hearing has gone out as well. Our neuro consult isn't until Tuesday, until then I have meds and trying to stay sane. The other speciality clinic close to me is at the University of Georgia and they don't have a neuro appointment until next Friday. Troy got some fluids and I've given him his meds for the night. Just waiting on him to sit down for more than 2 seconds.

| I am SO sorry Troy is having a bad time. Prayers for him and for you. I would think that the symptoms he is having might bump him up? Are you far from NC State? I believe that is where YT member Perrella went with her pup. If you could get there, perhaps they might get you in sooner??
