YorkieTalk Newbie! | At a loss.. Hello all, I am new to this site, but have googled it many times for all of your opinions on how to best care for my Callie. She is 7 years old and frequently (every other month or so) has "tummy episodes"...mostly diarhea and loss of appetite. Today, out of no where, her tummy starts gurgling and she has had loose stool once and vomitted just now. I gave her a little pepto bismal, but am kind of scared. I have a call to the vet- any advice? |

| Tibbe has this, too, since he stated having problems about this time last year. His seemed to start after eating some Milo's Chicken Jerky treats and every couple of weeks or sometimes more often, he gets quiet, may spit up bile once, refuses food half the day but still usually has normal stools, though occasionally he'll have a bit of mucus on one end. Usually he'll eat dinner and resume normal activities by evening. He's a big grazer outside and does grab up whatever he can find out there. I wonder if this is now what causes his current problems. His lab tests have been normal. He hasn't had a BAT yet, though. I think I'm getting one of those on him when he goes in for his comprehensive exam.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I hope your vet was able to help you. My Roxie has been having spells of spitting up food and liquid so I took her in. They gave her some medicine for reflux and I have to follow up in 2 weeks to recheck some blood work that was a little high. Hopefully Callie has a monor tummy issue that can be easily taken care of.

| I'm so sorry your Callie is having tummy problems. There seems to be IBS common with Yorkies from what I can tell. Or acid reflux as mentioned above. Is Callie's dish up off of the floor? Please let us know what your vet said. The vet really needs to diagnose so she can get the correct meds for the problem. Pepto helps the symptoms but may be covering up another issue. Praying for her to feel better soon!

| My Huey pretty much stopped vomiting every week or so since I changed him to Blue Buffalo from Purina One. (Boo hisss....I know now). He has only vomited 3 times since november. Once in the car (normal car sickness for him) once after a possible seizure episode and one other time that i don't have an explanation for. I think that is a pretty good improvement record.
