I am so glad all your "babies" are home with you. Take care of yourself. |
YAY George, I am glad you're feeling better buddy. From experience I can tell you Pancreatitis is scary!! When you think your dog is sick do just as Linda did and take it to the VET ASAP!!! |
So glad to hear Georgie is home sending prayers for his continued improvement. |
I just now seeing this and am so thrilled to see George, Sunny D, and Teddy Bear are now home. You're so right, Pancreatitus is a very serious illness. I'm so happy to know that George has such a caring mommy. ;) Praying for God to give you the strength to care of all your precious babies. |
Just wanted to check in on George, hope he is doing good at home. |
Linda, I haven't been on YT a lot, and was sad to see all that you have been going through, but very HAPPY to see all three are home and on the mend. I wish you all well, and hope the recovery continues, and hope you are able to take care of yourself too. You must be drained. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Hugs to all! |
Dear Ladyjane (Linda), I just logged on today to find out more about pancreatitis. One of my three Yorkies, three year old Bijou, was just diagnosed with it. I cried my way through all your posts-and the supportive posts from the YorkieTalk members-about your sweet George. I am so happy and relieved to hear that your little baby came through it!! Bijou, although described by the vet as having "off the chart pancreatitis" did not need to be hospitalized. They put fluid under her skin, sent me home with 3 meds (one for upset tummy, one for diahrea, and one for vomiting) and she is on a chicken and rice diet for the next 5 days. She seems OK now (frisky self again) but I am so frightened. She has never had human food, only a very good, low fat kibble-Wellness. But still she has contracted pancreatitis. Again, what you and little George have gone through touched me so deeply, and I am so happy he is getting better!! |

George was seen by the specialist today. They did an ultrasound and the pancreatic mass is still present and unchanged in size. The only way of knowing if it is cancerous would be to do a biopsy and that won't be done since the only thing to do then would be surgery with a poor prognosis. He is doing fantastic (eating well, no vomiting and no diarrhea) so we will just continue to watch him. While I am hopeful it is not cancerous, I don't plan on doing anything invasive with my little man. |

Praying George continues to do well :) |
Sending prayers and best wishes to Linda and her "little warrior." |
George is having diarrhea again. It has been going on for three days...nothing out of control. Just the normal times for a BM, but nasty ones :( . My vet put him back on metronidazole and that has done nothing so far. He is on a home cooked diet and that is not new, so I am sure it is not his food. I called the specialist and they want to do a repeat ultrasound to check that pancreatic mass again. :( So, he will be going there early tomorrow morning as a drop off. Please keep my little baby in your thoughts and prayers. |
