Yeah I am so HAPPY to hear that George is doing so much better. I pray that he will be able to come on Tuesday.

My oldest yorkie (Cosmo) is about 9 yrs old. He too this year came down with the same illness. His started out as vomiting on a Sunday afternoon. After about 3 or 4 bouts that afternoon I rushed him to my vet and she wasn't sure if he was going to make it. When his labs came back my vet said that she wasn't sure if he would pull through. She stated that she had never seen labs that bad on a dog who was still alive. He ended up on IV's, pain meds and a ton of medicines. For the first couple of days - I sat in the vets office, by his cage, and held him in my lap for 3 or 4 hours while he slept. When I went back after the second day - there he was standing in his cage with his ears up and his tail a wagging. Talk about relief. The vet said that even one episode of vomiting could put these little ones into a very sick situation. She sent me home with meds for the vomiting and meds for the
Pancreatitis and said that if he starts with even one episode of vomiting to start him on the meds immediately and if he didn't seem better after 6 hours - he needed to be brought in immediately. Since that time - we have had two more episodes of pancreatitis. By having the meds on hand---he has not gotten as sick as the first time. He is also on a very strict diet and he is not allowed to have treats from my plate, etc. He pancreatitis was set off from one of the treats that you can get them for the tarter buildup. Now I just brush my yorkies teeth with a dog paste---and they hate it but.......I really hope all goes well with you baby. prayers are with you It is so hard seeing them ill.

OMG....they just called with the morning update and my Georgie is coming home TODAY!!! They said he is much, much better and walking all around the ICU this morning. :)

All THREE are home now! Teddy Bear, George and Sunny D. The med times here are exhausting though...omg I feel like I am running a yorkie infirmary. :eek::eek::eek:
Oh...and Sunny's tube feedings are every six hours right now. They will go to eight in a few days. I have not been successful in getting him to eat on his own, but he did it at the hospital...so I hope soon. They gave him chicken...which is ok BUT not good for permanent food for him so I am hesitant.

Does he only have to have the feeding tube until he will eat all on his own? and is there a time frame that they want that to be in?

There is no time frame. They went with the PEG tube so that it can take as long as necessary. YEs, once he can eat on his own, it will be removed.

That is good news. is there anything you know that he really likes that you arent afraid of hm wanting all the time?? (you were worried about giving him allot of chicken) you know just to entice him to eat. Does he have diet limitations for health reasons?

YEAH !!!! I am so hapy to read this. I know what you mean about the med's and keeping them all on schedule.
