Uh oh.... Lilos sick.. She only ate a little this morning and refuses to Drink water so were heading to vet... I hope my little one is ok... Will update late on.. :(

Well we noticed her gums being pale... She lost .2 pounds In the last week apparently.. Which is a lot for her :( she still responds to all her commands and. Comes when we call her so we know she is alert. But she looks soo sad and just wants to lie down. Their doing a blood test right now.... I feel so sad and worried..

crying now... :( Lilo has to stay overnight at the vet. Blood tests say shes Anemic. but they dont know why... they might have to do a blood transfusion if things dont get better.... i feel so terrible... home now depressed and looking up info on anemic dogs... vets going to call in 3 hours for an update.

oh no!!! im keeping lilo in my thoughts and prayers. your such a good mommy knowing her so well and taking her right away!!! i so hope they will find the answer so she can get better real soon! so sorry i wish i could give you a big hug and lilo too. im sure shes lost without her momma!! hugs. and lots of positive energy!!!

Oh, no! So sorry to hear this. Doesn't Lilo just weigh 2 or 3 lbs.? She must have lost down to bones, bless her heart. I guess it's not worms or they would have known immediately from a smear or stool sample. I know you are scared but she is where she needs to be and getting care now so try not to worry and pray for the best. Poor little Lilo has my prayers.

She was 2.5 last week when we had her cleared to travel and dropped down to 2.2 today when the vet weighed her. :( she felt so light this morning... No worms or parasites so far. They mentioned stress or maybe something she ate but there wasn't to much change in food....

Do you think she could have maybe gotten into something she shouldn't have...? Or been fed something you weren't aware of?

Poor little one! Hopefully it is just stress or something else that isn't so dire and a little medication or change in lifestyle or something simple will get her back on track. I'm praying for as good a news as possible for your little star. Kiss her for me and Tibbe please.

I was considering when my mom watched her for 2 hours while I was back home. She can be very sneaky when it comes to Lilo and may have fed her something. I gave her a call but she said she doesn't remember doing giving her anything,.. But I don't know.. It's hard to trust her when it comes to LILO because she just wants to give her everything...

Even mothers and sisters sometimes might not fess up to feeding them things they shouldn't have! Trust me, I know!!! Or maybe she did drop something by mistake, or a friend was over visiting your mom and fed her something or dropped some food, Lilo got it, it irritated her GI tract and she bled some. Being so tiny, it could have maybe cause her anemia? I know with my 3 lb. Jilly, she would scarf up things she had no business eating if it ever hit the floor while I was cooking or serving or we were eating. And oddly enough ;), she seemed to have way more tummy troubles after people were over to the house for dinner, etc., or she stayed with someone when I traveled!!! She either had to eat her special food only or she got severely ill. Hopefully, it was just a something like that and her vet can get her system settled down and her back to rights.

I was reading about them eating onions and it causing anemia.... I called the vet to mention it... I'm just hoping she isn't too frightened... They didn't even let me leave her blanket with her :( the wait for the vet to call back is killing Me...

Praying for Lilo right now, and you. You must be so worried. We are all with you! Try to stay preoccupied and don't google too much, sometimes that causes more worry than necessary. I know it's hard though. Lilo is smart and brave and just imagine how happy she'll be when mama brings her home!

Vet just called.... They decided her anemia is so bad that to be safe they want to start giving her some blood overnight. :( we won't get another call until the morning... She's on a heating pad and had her first dose of medicine and was doing well....

Try not to be scared - could just mean her bleed was significant at the time, spontaneously healed and could be over. The blood will make her strong, feel better!

We'll be sending love her way to help her through the night! She'll be just fine tomorrow and be ready to come home. :)

My mom is the same way...sneaks things and gives Zeus and Ody food they cannot eat. It's really frustrating because she thinks it's funny/she's spoiling them but it's so far from that. I don't care if they're spoiled as long as their health is not on the line.
