| ![]() I don't know if the meds are working but the only thing she will eat is a dog treat. She just sniffs chicken, dog food and peanut butter. And she just started shaking. I'm at a loss and hopefully the vet has answers tomorrow. |

| ![]() Oh, I thought she was in the hospital. Poor baby....they don't have an appetite when they have gall bladder and liver issues. My Olivia needed IV fluids because she simply would not eat anything.

| ![]() Your poor baby, hope she feels better soon. If it is an acute attack due to some toxin, she should be fine after treatment. Insurance is a GREAT idea, especially if she is younger and no pre-existing conditions. Don't know if the recent liver issue would be regarded as pre-exisiting when she gets better? Thinking of you and praying your little one gets well very soon. She is getting the best care and love and you can't do more than that. |

| ![]() She drinks plenty of water just not food. I'm hoping the meds are some taking away her appetite. I hope the ultra sound shows the gall bladder shrinking. For some reason I can't force the pills down her throat as easy as the vet does. Her jaw is mighty powerful even for me to open. I wish all meds were liguid as its much easier to give. I go at 930am tomorrow and will let y'all know what they find. Thanks for the kind wishes. |

| ![]() At least she is drinking. Is there no treat that is soft enough to wrap the pills in? Will she take Pill Pockets? I know it is not healthy food but I found soft American cheese worked well. I agree, liquid meds are much easier. I am a great advocate for Cerenia for nausea, it was a lifesaver when my dog was sick and would not eat. However, first you have to get her to take that! I know it is very expensive but you might ask the vet to give a Cerenia injection that lasts a day. It may allow her to take in some food if she is not nauseous. Hope she is helped after the vet visit tomorrow morning. You must be sick with worry about your poor baby. Prayers for you all. |

| ![]() The only treat she will eat is the hard treat that looks like a bone. She's got the nausea shot the same day as the ultra sound. We also give her it in a pill form daily since going to this new vet. She hasn't thrown up either. She loves cheese and peanut butter but wont touch it now. I even boiled some chicken which she likes too but nothing. I also bought those pill pockets when the vet gave me all those meds. She ate it the first day but like everything else she just doesn't want it. I will let the vet know. Last edited by danieloneil01; 12-23-2012 at 08:18 PM. |

| ![]() The poor baby. You know they are sick when they won't eat favorite foods and treats. Isn't it strange that she will only eat a hard treat?? And not cheese etc?? You sure have done everything to try and make her comfortable as has the vet. I know you must be so worried about her. Whatever you try does not seem to work and that hurts you i am sure. Thank goodness you are seeing the vet again tomorrow, and hopefully get some answers. Oh that these babes could talk and tell us how they feel, but they suffer in silence. Praying for a better tomorrow. I do so feel for you. Hugs. |

| ![]() Perhaps you can get the vet to get liquid meds for her. That is what they did with Olivia because she was not willing to eat anything and she is tiny and very, very hard to get pills into. As for food......I tried so many things...for a while she would eat canned dog food...now she only wants kibble. I have her on a prescription food that the vet nutrionist suggested for her. I had wanted to home cook for her, but she will not eat chicken or pasta....or sweet potatoes. It is weird the things she refuses to eat....but as long as she is eating something I am happy. For a while I did not think she ever would...she was downright scary she was so sick.

| ![]() You could try the egg beaters or baby food. I know other people would give you some ideas on food but I'm not 100% sure. I also think it is weird she will eat a hard treat and not soft food. The vet should be able to give you a special food for sick or surg animals. Ours uses Science Diet A/D or Royal Canin Recovery. BTW, we are praying for your baby!

| ![]() They already gave me some special canned dog food. Still wont touch it. Maybe she still feels nauseous and that's why she wont eat. I'm going to ask for another shotfor nausea and see if she eats when we get home. If so ill see if I can get stronger pills or liquid for her nausea. Hopefully they can give me mostly liquid meds. So much easier to stick in the back of her mouth and inject slowly. I'm scared if I try to force a pill it might get stuck. The biggest one is a little bigger than a tylenol pill. |

| ![]() You must be so distressed that your baby will not eat. You sure have tried everything. Another shot of Cerenia may help her. I guess that the underlying cause if her illness has to be cured before she will feel better and eat. Praying the vet can help today. Good luck. |

| ![]() We pray that your baby can be cured medically. However if gall bladder removal is required, that is not a always a trivial surgery in dogs. Please ask the vet what the risks are and what the post op recovery involves, as well as the prognosis after surgery. You might also Google Gall Bladder Surgery in Dogs. Of course you may have to operate to make your baby well again, but also know the facts. Again prayers for her that she responds to med treatment. You must be so desperate after all this time trying to help your baby. |

| ![]() Nothing has changed with her gall bladder. I noticed her gums are starting to turn yellowish and told the vet. She said the liver will try and heal itself and its a long recovery and to make sure she eats as her liver needs something to process to hopefully push out the toxins. I got her a nausea shot and she seems in better spirits and ate some Ham. I hope it stays gone so I can feed her some liver canned food the vet gave me.
