You know...I have an ear cleaner that I bought when I got Jersey...never thought to use it, and I feed grain free as well....was giving them yogurt to help with calcium intake when she was a pup to (help) her ears stand....they never did. Both of her ears are badly infected...I too am amazed at these little ones pain tolerance... So back to yogurt with dinner and will start using the ear cleaner...its sitting here all nice and pretty in the un-opened box

| I do too! We actually started doing the Greek yogurt recently. We give Georgie about a teaspoon with his dry food.

| Sorry to hear about your little one Jacqui. I lived that ear infection thing with my poor spaniel for years. (of course another floppy eared dog). Who did you take her to? What is the ear cleaner you have? I sure hope Wallee doesn't end up with them. I'll try my best to keep on to of them but as you said, sometimes these things just don't reveal themselves to us. |

| Please don't beat yourself up she will be good as new in no time. I didn't realize that with the floppy ears they are more prevalent to infections but it makes sense.

I also have three cats...all the cats were completly infested with the creepy things!!! Of course all animals had to be treated....so flea meds for all animals, exams for all animals, drops for Raelle's ears, anti-biotic for Darth Vadors (cat) infected tooth, worm meds..as fleas can carry worms as well....drum roll please....$800.00 later!! Sorry forgot Rabies shot for Raelle and last shot for Jersey....bought some Diatomaceous Earth as well...hopefully I can get rid of the &*%$ing things!!!

| I know the feeling! We were at the vet every 2 week with Georgie because of fleas! I even called the makers of Advantage and had a long convo with them. The neighbor had outside cats so I am sure that where he was getting them from. They are so gross!

| One of my past males, Duffy was prone to yeast infections in the ear, I never knew or tried the diet. But as long as I kept up with keeping his ear dry it was kept at bay, the problem seemed to re occur each time we went to the groomer, so I started bathing him at home and would lightly blow dry the inside of his ears and always made sure all the inner hair was plucked out. Also my female Murphy was prone to licking Duffy's ears at the least little sign of a breakout, which he enjoyed, so I had to keep an eye on that and eventually they had to be kept in two cages when I went out, no more sharing a cage. Duffy's ears were upright, I would assume that with ears that were down this could be more of a problem, in addition to any diet changes or additives I would be diligent in keeping his ears dry. The odor is a dead give away, my dog came with the problem and I before I knew I could not understand why even after baths he had this funk about him but the good news is now you know the signs and the smells so you will be able to stay on top of it. good luck

| Ear infections; Bacterial, garlic oil. Yeast, raw cold pressed coconut oil. I give yogurt and have used monistat in her ears before but the coconut oil really worked much faster. Scoobers get constant ear infections and Princess gets yeast in her ears every 3 months. I will note after switching to raw feeding both have yet to get another infection seems the cycle is broken...for now.

| Wow. Thats a weeks pay. I pray we never have the flea problem. My husband will have a fit. ;-) With 4 cats and Wallee that would be a nightmare. So far we have been lucky as our cats are not allowed outdoors and aside from puppy classes and one day of daycare Wallee hasn't really been around other dogs. |
