| Help with vomiting yorkie ... Help with vomiting yorkie ... 2 year old, never been really sick so far, and always playful. Come from work, and see him vomiting - doesn't want to eat. Tried all his favortes - wont take anything. Drinks water but then starts vomting white foamy stuff. Will probably take him to vet first thing in morning. Any suggestion - in case someone is reading - what to do in meantime? Still seems vomting on and off. |

| How is he doing? Any updates? Normally, they will vomit yellow bile when they have an empty stomach. Once that is all expelled, they will vomit white foam. In this case, I think you needed to take him in YESTERDAY bc he's refusing food & he's still vomiting on & off. They're so small, they can go downhill very fast. If you wait longer, you might end up in the emergency room overnight...

| sorry about delay - noticed my post got held up for review by mod - so gave up last night. So basically kept him in - as i read over other place, i can obsesrve a day. He was drinking, so thought just wait till morning. Took him to vet 1st thing in moring - they weren't sure - thought something he could've swallowed. So took X-ray - nothing large they could so - although they couldn't be 100% sure if something small was swallowed. But he thinks it is gas/bloating causing the problem - based on xray. Gave small amount of IV, two shots, and some medication and told me if things gets worse, bring back tomorrow - may not to do further testing/stay over hospital etc. But he hasn't thrown up for a while before i left home. Doc said to limit the water for now, and wait for food perhaps late tonight or tomorrow. He basically gave some medice for gas/bloating/inflmation of stomach. Will keep posted .. see how things goes. I left after watching 2 hours or so, was mostly ressting - altough awake and seems bit better mood. Wife is staying home and i'll do it tomorrow. |
