| Poor Scraps I hope the antibiotics do the trick and his poor mouth heals. It has to be very irritating under his tongue like that.

| Another sleepless night for him and me. Poor little guy. He threw up three more blood balls last night before we went to bed. The in the middle of the night he got out of his bed bc he needed to pee. Just started peeing on the floor, then fell down into his puddle of pee. for some reason anesthesia makes his rear legs like noodles the first few days. Last time I thought it was bc he had his neuter (he had undescended testes) but he's doing it again now too. But last night when BIL came home he trotted to the door. So I dunno. Then his rear foot was soaked in blood. I don't know if he was biting his foot and the blood from his mouth got on there or what. So I had to give him a quick rinse down on his bottom half since he was soaked on pee and blood. I gave his first dose of meds, hopefully he feels better soon. He still hasn't shown any interest in food, but has been drinking water, quite a bit actually.

| Scrappy may have had a seizure this morning a few hours after I gave him his meds. He darted up from his bed and ran over to this water bowl then collapsed. I tried to pick him up and make him stand but his legs gave out like noodles. He hit is head on the floor. His eyes were glazed over and unresponsive but he did not have foam out the mouth nor was he shaking. It was so scary and I didn't know what to do. I just held him and tried to open his mouth a little, I don't know why but I thought it wold help. After about 30 secs his eyes "came back" if you know what I mean. His eyes are alert and responsive now, but he keeps whining and doing this little cough. I don't know if there is dried blood in his mouth or what. The swelling has gone down considerably though. I boiled some chicken and he still won't eat. He had some water, a lot, this morning, but now won't even take chicken water. I opened his mouth and put a piece of chicken in and he just pushed it back out. Uni meanwhile is begging for chicken and trying to sit on top if him!

| Elvis' seozures are irregular to what I thought a typical seizure was, sometimes he just spaces out and or walks around 'drunk like'. I'm so sorry he is dealing with this so much for this tough lil guy. He may be swallowing too muvh bacteria and need intracenious antibiotics. Definately no toys unless you sterile them and he has them a clean area. Oral infections can quickly go right to the blood or brain nothing to mess around with IMHO. I hope this clears up quickly. Can he eat garlic or more importantly will he? Its great topical quickly absorbed natural antibiotic in conjunction with pharmaceutical antibiotics. Oh yeah when a tooth is about to abscess its not uncommon the surrounding gums get an infection this why thesr blood blisters happen literally the gum tissue is dying blood is coming in but collecting in an infected area. Maybe using coconut oil as a mouth cleanser will help a lot in the future.

| Poor scraps so sorry you guys are having such a rough patch right now. I hope he's feel well soon... When Leo used to have seizures he'd shake a little and then his legs would give out and he'd be on his back shaking.... It's hard to look at their eyes when theyre doing this because it's so scary. Make sure you tell the vet and write everything down like when you tried feeding him and when he seems weak. and if he glazes over again grab a camera and record so you can show that vet what your talking about... |
