| I am so sorry for you and your baby. They just had a story on our local news about a pup being fitted with an artificial paw after it was nailed to a train track by some very sick individual. Maybe that can be done for your pup and for sure the vet would pay for it and any adjustments that need to be done for the rest of his life. Hugs, no one should go through this. |

| I'm so sorry this happened! It is unforgiveable! It's scary too, because it is so close to us. I hope we never end up at their clinic. I wish you all the best of luck going forward. Very very sad though. It shouldn't have happened. Our prayers are with you.

| sorry to hear this about ur baby,, but i feel better knowing they took the whole limb off as leaving part limb is worse,,, my boy sonny had his whole foot chewed off right up past the due claw [bad breeder story] he kept hitting the bone off the ground and we were trying everything to keep it covered but nothin worked, he had to go about with that till he was 1yrs old so he wud be healthy enough to go thro the full limb amputation,, he is now 4 yrs and is a healthy beautiful boy , very speedy and runs like a greyhound lol i have pic in my photo album of him,, i was more devistated than him lol only thing i keep an eye on is his diet, i dont let him be overweight or it will put to much strain on the other leg ur baby will do well.

| What an awful experience!!!! ![]() ![]() ![]() I know this is a little off topic, but please leave a review on Yelp! detailing what happened so that people can be aware of what type of establishment they are going to, and what kind of people are caring for their animals. Even if the initial injury itself didn't occur due to negligence, the fact that they left the paw bandaged for 48 hours without making you aware of what kind of shape she was truly in is downright negligent in and of itself! People should be informed when things like this happen so that they can make more educated decisions as far as the consumption of healthcare for themselves and for their animals. So I definitely think you should write a review. It may save this from happening to other pets, and it may even get them to fess up and take accountability for their gross mismanagement of the whole situation. I don't buy the IV story for a single minute. I'm so relieved to hear that you and Bailey are such good sports about the whole thing and adapting wonderfully. Positive energy and healing for you all! |

| update on Bailey: She is doing really well considering. Her bandages were removed on Friday and seeing all those stitches are hard for us. But she is getting around well. She still has to have some restriction on activity because of the LP surgery and she would really rather be chasing squirrels with her brother. She does seem to have some "phantom" pain like you hear of humans experiencing after the loss of a limb. We are just so thankful she is here with us and thriving thus far. We have already hit several online review sites concerning the place where we took her. My husband even put his number and someone has already reached out to us to say they to were unhappy with the place. We really appreciate all the thoughtful notes of concern. I will figure out how to upload pics and get a pic of bailey on here! |

| I am glad that she is doing well considering everything she has been through, but like everyone else this story saddens me so much because it never should have happened. I was wondering about the phantom pain, just so sad because they can not tell you what they are feeling. But on the other hand dogs amaze me because they are so resilient in how quickly they come through these type of ordeals. Did the ER doc do the surgery?

| I posted some pics of bailey in an album in my profile. Also Benji her brother. She is needing her pain meds less and less. Shes' been such a trooper taking all these meds! The little pill pocket treats I got at pet store have been great! She seems to be getting some of her personality back. We just feel like she sometimes looks at us like 'what the heck happened?' The ER doc recommended someone who we used for the surgery. |

| Hi all, update on Bailey. She is doing really well. The sutures will come out Monday. We've had to keep her restricted mainly because of the lp surgery healing. She finally decided to try the doggy stairs we have put around the house. She is going up and down. Going down she's more timid because she just has one leg to put forward. She can do the doggy door. It's very low, a cat door actually. We had a dachshund before yorkies that passed at age 16. She is playing tug of war with her brother and off all meds. Her personality coming back more each day. We appreciate all your thoughts, prayers and concern. Our regular vet is writing a letter to accompany our letter of complaint to the vet board. We asked him what word he would use other than negligent, he said "there's not one" he said it was nothing but. |

This is excellent!! This will carry a TON of weight with the vet board....doctors and vets seldom will step forward against another of their kind, so when they do, it is considered serious, and "not just some crazy customer that has a personality clash with the vet"....I applaud your vet for having the ethical responsibility to step up and call this for what it was! Meanwhile, I am thrilled your baby is adapting so very well and quickly, to the traumatic circumstance she was so unnecessarily forced into. Dogs notoriously have the capability to bounce back from adversion.....and in spite of it all, they harbor no ill will! | |

| Your babies are adorable. I am so saddened to hear your story. I was up in Victoria, BC, last month and met a woman with a dog who had one leg amputated too. She acted no different than any other dog and was such a joy to be around. It was amazing how she has adapted. I am sure your baby will too. If the vet is not willing to cover all your expenses because of their neglect, I would suggest checking into small claims court.
