| Pancreatitis - Encouarging words needed. So my baby got really sick this morning and had to go to the vet asap. She was diagnosed with pancreatitis. Im really trying to hold it together...They said her levels were off the charts and so they got her on an IV asap. She has to stay over night, which is where i worry the most b/c no one is there to check up on her. They said they were going to put a cone on her just in case she tried to mess with her IV, which honestly worries me, b/c i know when she was spayed she fought with those things to get them off. They are open tomo 8-12. And she has been there since about 11:30 this morning. So the doc is going to check her tummy then to see if she is still tense, and if she isnt, then he is going to do some more blood tests to see if she's doing better. But b/c her levels were so high i know that there is a chance that she might need to stay on the fluids for another day. Im just looking for encouraging words. Just likie everyone else says, this is my little love and it is so hard not having her here with me now. I stayed at the vet with her for 3 hours just loving on her, i couldn't bring myself to leave.......

| I know what you are going through! I had to leave my Mandie at the Internal Medicine Vet for a week when she was diagnosed with Pancreatitis. And this was after going through about 3 days of IV fluids at our normal vet. It is a stressful time. Prayers are with you!!

| I am sorry both you are going through Pancreatits with your babies. As I type this I can look over at my four year old Sophie Kate who was diagnoised two years ago with the same thing. She is a healthy, active Yorkie now but back then I was scared. My advice is listen to your vet, follow their instrutions to the letter. Sophie Kate is on a prescription food (Hills ID) and get only one type of dog treats, Charlee Bear low fat. I have to remind people all the time to not give her people food or off the shelve dog treats (just yesterday I had to tell a friend no to some dog treat that looked like bacon) Good luck and keep us posted.

| During the summer I had the same situation with my lil Elle. They thought it was pancreatitis also. She stayed at the vets office the whole weekend. It was a horrible feeling for me. My vet didn't live far from the office so she went and checked on her all the time. Just trust your vets. I know its hard. I have never cried so much than dealing with that ordeal. Elle's labwork was off the charts as well, and after alot of medication and special prescription dog food, we fought it. (it wasn't pancreatitis afterall) After 6 months, she is finally back to normal. So just learn as much as you can about pancreatitis and listen to your vets. You will get through this, just keep telling yourself that.
