LJ, Glad to hear that Summer seems to be improving. You have had a busy week between Sammy and Summer. Hope things quiet down a bit. :) |

Thanks so much both of you...and yes, Rose, I am hopeful for some quiet time now. haha |
So glad she is improving!!!! |
I don't know...this afternoon she kind of picked at her food. Now tonight she is slinking around....I just don't get it. She is better...but something is still bothering her. :( I wish she could talk to me. |
I think it's too soon for her to be completely better, but she is getting better and should get better everyday. I think pancreatitis is like that - better sometimes and not others during an attack of it. |
Getting ready to take Summer to the EC. I called there to see who is there....and it is my favorite EC vet! At this point, I think a CPL is needed and my vet sends them out which takes a few days. This way I will know today for sure whether it is pancreatitis or not. Normally I would not be as concerned if a pup was responding to treatment, but she just seems to out of whack for my comfort. She is back to not even looking at food. :( |

I'm sorry she's not eating. I hope you'll get some answers. |
Keep us posted, sending prayers and hugs to both of you. |
I am keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers. Hope all goes well at the vet...also glad it is a vet you like. |
CPL is negative. Her lipase is now normal. She was still having pain. She had a temp of 103.2 Thinking it might be stress/pain related since he did labs...everything ok. Gave her Tramadol and she is more comfortable and did eat most of her food this afternoon. Will speak with my vet in am. EC vet said we just have to be sure there is nothing GI going on before starting an anti inflammatory. He is leaning towards it being her back. She is still showing some flinching when examined. He went to do an xray and the darned machine broke....I did not want to drive to another EC...and did not want to wait for the people to show up to fix it. I will see if my vet wants to do one tomorrow. We did do one there the other day and it did not show anything. |
Poor Summer and how very frustrating about the broken xray machine. She is in my thoughts and prayers this evening, Linda. |

It just would have perhaps been interesting. |
Glad she had good labs and hoping she will do better soon. |
Glad her labs were good and her Lipase is back to normal. Hoping that Summer is back to her self tomorrow. Hoping you can get some rest. |
Poor baby. She has been through so much. :( |
Spoke with my vet and she has started Summer on meds for her back. Summer is to be on strict rest for now. She started her on Dexamethasone, Carafate, Pepcid, Methacarbanole......and Tramadol for pain. Hopefully she will respond to these meds .. if not, she will need further testing. At this point she has no neuro deficits at all, so she is starting with conservative treatment. |
oh i hope the meds show some improvement for summer!!! |
