YorkieTalk Newbie! | 4 months old yorkie on antibiotics Hi all Just a question about walking Balu out while hes on abx. He has some blood in his poops yesterday so we took him to the vet and h She recommended him to be on abx. He's his Usual self but I'm no sure how much to push it since he's so tinny and can get sick so fast Thank u! Karina and Balu |

| Well, if he needs antibiotics, his little system is fighting something off. In that case, it would probably be good for him to not have too much excitement. I'd limit his playtime and just give him gentle walks and a little running around the house, until the meds are gone and you are sure he's better. You know how it is when we are sick, rest is usually the best medicine, to allow our bodies to use all our energy to fight off whatever we have. Hope all is well with your little one

| Oh, and ask the vet if you can give him probiotics to repopulate the good bacteria in his digestive system. The abx will kill a good amount of those off and can affect digestion.

| Sounds like a great vet It might take a few days for all the blood to clear from the digestive tract. I would call the vet and ask them how long they think it'll take for her to not have blood in her stool. How is she doing otherwise, eating and drinking okay? Playful while awake?
