Terrified of storms Wow! I didnt think of using benadryl...my sassy is terrified of storms too! I am pretty sure it is because until i rescued her last year, she had spent her life in an outdoor kennel run with other yorkies. If it just starts to drizzle a little she starts shaking, panting and trying to find a place to hide and as the storm gets louder and closer she gets worse, and at her age i am worried that someday it may give her a heart attack or something. Please let me know what dosage you used for your baby. Sassy is 16 lbs.

As summer progresses and rainy season gets here, I'll learn how well Petunia does with the thunder and lightning. Our Doberman was petrified of it!!! He would wedge himself under the coffee table for protection. It was the funniest thing. Then, one day while I was at work, DH decided to help him 'get away from the scaries'. In a playful manner, they hid in the walk in closet, lmao. Shortly after that, I woke one morning to thunder, and there was the dog, in the closet!!!

THe thundershirt worked for my mom's dog. If you use a tight (like a size down) tshirt, it will work the same, though I understand neither work for some dogs. Ive heard melatonin is also safe for dogs, but check with your vet, especially regarding dosage
